I have a 19 yr old patient that was accidentally given a VFC. Administration has already reported the error to VFC and taken measures to address the issue. The patient has commercial insurance and I don't know how to proceed. Everything is correct in the record with the exception of it being from VFC stock. My provider ordered a PFT and bills for the read on the same day as an office visit. Can the provider count the PFT as an order for MDM even though he is billing for the PFT read?

Hello! I have written a letter to AAPC requesting they consider adding a specialty specific credential for Behavioral Health. We have doctor offices that are owned by the local hospital system. They have started billing out facility fees so are no longer using POS 11. Does anyone use POS 19 and how are the insurance companies processing these claims? Are insurance companies pay on pap smears?

Hello, When coding for a definitive drug test that also includes tested metabolites are we to include the tested metabolites in the total targets? For example: My lab has a definitive drug panel that tests for 5 tricyclic antidepressants and 1 metabolite. Can we include the drug metabolite in the total target count and use CPT 80337: Antidepressants, tricyclic and other cyclicals; 6 or more?

A patient had a surgery in another State (hysterectomy). She Saw that provider for one post op visit, but got sent back to us for 2 more post op visits. That Doctor billed global 58571 with no modifier or transfer of post op care paperwork done. Can I charge for these visits? Or do I do a no charge?

I work for a BH office where they administer Spravato with the minimum monitoring for 2 hours. Has anyone been having issues with Magellan when billing an OV and the add on? We were told to use 99215 and +99417 as the add on code due to the AMA making changes at the beginning of the year. Last year we billed the 99214 +99354&99355.

Hello, we are Medicare participating providers, but we are non-billing providers with Medicaid only ordering and referring providers. Does anyone know if we are allowed to bill the patients the 20% coins that Medicare does not cover since we do not participate with Medicaid and the patients know ahead of time that we do not take Medicaid? We are a specialist office out of Massachusetts.
