[ST Edge Driver] SolarEdge PV Inverter

Driver renamed: se-modbus-v4 → se-modbus-tcp The platform doesn’t support renaming an existing driver in place, so this is technically a new driver ( se-modbus-tcp ), not an update to the old one — but your existing device can switch over to it without losing anything, no need to remove and re-add. To switch your existing SolarEdge device: Make sure you’re already subscribed to the channel (same invite link as before — nothing’s changed there). On your Hub in the SmartThings app: Hub → Driver → find se-modbus-tcp in the list (it should already be there from the channel, may take a few minutes to show up after a fresh subscribe/refresh). Go to your SolarEdge Inverter device → gear icon (device settings) → look for a “Driver” option . If it’s there, select se-modbus-tcp from the list. Check your device preferences afterward (same gear icon → the inverter’s IP address, port, unit ID, poll interval) — in one test this carried over automatically, but the platform doesn’t guarantee that for every driver, so it’s worth a 10-second check. Re-enter them if they reset to placeholder values. Confirm it’s working: the app should show fresh power/energy readings within a poll cycle or two. Once you’ve confirmed it’s working , you can optionally remove the old driver from your own hub (Hub → Driver → se-modbus-v4 → uninstall) — purely cosmetic cleanup, not required. The old se-modbus-v4 driver will stay available on the channel for a few weeks to give everyone time to switch, then may be r

No Welcome Code?

You can do that through the app by tapping on Menu and selecting Contact us or going to the Samsung website and going to their Support page.

No Welcome Code?

Hi, I have a Samsung SmartThings V2 Hub STH-ETH-200, which I’ve owned many many years now. Over those years, I’ve added different products, and the Hub became a bit of a mess with items connected, so after some issues recently with Hue stuff, I decided to factory reset the SmartThings Hub to start over, unaware I need this Welcome Code. The code isn’t printed on my Hub, and after having it for many years, I haven’t a clue where or if I still have the card with this code on it, so I somehow need to get a new code from SmartThings. If anyone who works for SmartThings is about please could you respond so I can get direct assistance with this matter, please.

Trigger a Smartthings or Alexa action when my dog is eating cat food

Cool. Me too. I retract what I said about Home Assistant; that was a bit tongue in cheek. I exclusively use Zigbee and Z-Wave devices (dipping my toe into Matter/Thread now) that are (or can be) supported by SmartThings. I know there are people on this forum who have experience with Alexa routines triggered by SmartThings routines. Hopefully one of them will chip in. In terms of speed, have you considered a Zigbee motion detector detecting your doggie? Of course motion detectors have a re-arm time; maybe a smart dog might figure this out. Anybody else?

Linking Alexa and Google Home not working

I am no expert but, if your goal is to integrate Alexa and Google Home with Kidde, you should be doing that in Alexa and Google Home. That is, a direct connection with Kidde, rather than via SmartThings. I could be wrong.

Trigger a Smartthings or Alexa action when my dog is eating cat food

Firstly my dog hates Alex. I have a blink camera set up and when he goes to the cat food bowl an Alexa routine tells him to get away from the cat food. It is very effective but…1. There is a delay where the dog can eat more than half the food before the action executes. 2. The action executes when the cat approaches because the cat’s tail is triggering the action. I’m hoping someone can help me with another option. I just need something maybe on the dog collar the when it comes in range of some other device it will trigger the action. Any ideas??? TIA.

Feature request : Integration with Hilo

You should sent your feature request about the integration to Hilo. Since it looks like it would be a cloud-to-cloud integration, Hilo would be responsible for setting up and maintaining the integration to SmartThings.

Linking Alexa and Google Home not working

ST staff do not appear to be monitoring the forums. Since it deals with your cloud-to-cloud integration, you should reach out directly to ST through build@smartthings.com

Linking Alexa and Google Home not working

Hi SmartThings, As part of the cloud-to-cloud integration, we successfully integrated the Kidde Cloud with the SmartThings Cloud, and the end-to-end integration is functioning as expected. However, we are unable to link Alexa or Google Home through SmartThings, and the integration is not working as expected for these voice assistant platforms. Thanks, Kidde team
