A thread for discussing news about the Cannondale-Drapac Pro Cycling Team. They've had a lacklustre start to the 2016 season, but Slagter (Tour du Haut Var) and Clarke (GP Industria & Artigianato di Larciano) picked up a couple of wins for the team.

The decisive GC block starts with the long (ahem) TT. Map and profile The route Quite untechnical and with perhaps 60 metres of elevation separating the lowest point from the highest, this is one for the powerhouses. That being said, it isn't completely flat, with a couple of false-flat drags in addition to two small hills directly after Lomopardo, around the second time check.

There's an equivalent thread for next year's Tour, but very little has come to light about the Giro route. Friuli (probably Trieste) has long been rumoured as the destination for the Grande Partenza, building on stage 20 this year (some of the wilder suggestions of Abu Dhabi or even Australia still do the rounds on the internet, but lack plausibility 8 months out). Other speculation at present is for a stage finish over the Austrian border in Lienz (potentially leading into a rest day) and a 35km/550m time trial from Montecchio Maggiore to central Vicenza. To the best of my knowledge, Rome still has the contract for the final stage.

A stage as flat as a tortilla de patatas. Map and profile The route Now this is a stage where it really wouldn't matter if they shortened it. The route starts in Dos Hermanas, one of Sevilla's largest suburbs, spends all day meandering through the both sportingly and visually rather uninteresting countryside east of the metropolitan area, and finishes in the city centre. Just like in 2024 (when Pavel Bittner won), the race enters Sevilla from the north, but only with 1.2k to go do we join the 2024 route with the last left-hander of the day (although the final kilometre spends a long time gradually bending left).
