Nurse wants a conversation about Mounjaro or Ozempic on Monday

My latest bloods have only shown a small drop and they remain stubbornly high I was also told I am in the obese BMI range My diabetic nurse is a very caring and helpful person and I trust her Her view was that these drugs are effective if used under medical supervision She seems to be siding with Mounjaro as she feels in my case it will help me lose that weight and get those blood sugars down I understand that if I agree , it will be introduced alongside my existing metformin and... Inspirational Quotes

I’ll start us off with an inspirational quote. DON’T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER

More on stepping out.

I started adding comments on the existing thread about the Million Step Challenge but I think that that thread is really only of interest to those who are looking for the links to sign up. Since we are now over a month in that's basically nobody. So I've opened up a new thread in the hope that anyone else who is doing the challenge, or just likes to walk, might join in. I decided to do the challenge but I didn't sign up to do any fundraising because I've done a fair bit of that in recent... Read more

Hello all

Hi all, I am a T2 diabetic and have been for at least 31 years, and have started using the Libre 2 system only this year to manage my diabetes after, frankly years of ignoring managing my sugars, for several reasons. To say this move has been life-altering is probably understating it - is it the same for others having started using CGM for the first time? Anyway, happy Sunday morning (here at least!).

Herbal tea

I love a cup of herbal tea in tye winter but was wondering if there are any herbal teas I should avoid

Slow Cooker Pasta Sauce.

We like to use our slow cooker to produce batches for freezing. It is very useful for busy retired people because it provides nice instant meals for times when we don't have time to cook. It is important to remember to take them out of the freezer ahead of time but it generally makes meal planning very easy. Today I made some vegetarian pasta sauce. This involves a kind of winging it recipe that cost about £15 to make. Ingredients list as follows: Bell peppers. Broccoli. Carrots... Read more

Travelling to tropical country what insulin storage best?

Help Struggling to reduce my medical bag size as full of pump spares. Solo traveller. Still to fit in 8 x 10 ml insulin vials, 10 penfill cartridges and 10 disposable pens. Best cooling hacks please to protect my supplies from high humidity and heat, both on the 24 hr journey out and on various other several day long trips to other places. Plus quite an active holiday Google has confused me after advice to spend £100s on USB fridges that are too expensive and unwieldy for just me. Can I get... Read more

Type 2 and my Mounjaro adventures

Hi all, Diagnosed with Type 2 about 7 weeks ago. After being initially being prescribed Metformin and Dapagliflozin, after several fun and games (including a visit to A and E as ended up dehydrated) I have been taken off Dapagliflozin. Replacing this is Mounjaro injections. As I’ve just started, I thought I’d share my experiences on it. I’ve already managed to lose 9.5kg on my own steam. Current @ hba1c is 68. Very first injection was yesterday - I initially was quite nervous about... Read more

My dear mum

Today is my mums birthday, she's been gone nearly 30 years and I still miss here so much that it hurts at times. I wish you had known her she was a great lovely lady and brought me up on her own. I only have one photo of her in which she's a child. Will try and attach it. I miss her all the time but it's on certain dates ie birthday and the anniversary of her passing that its a wee bit harder. I truly believe that I will see her again. Mum I love you every day and night. You broken... Read more

Suddenly increasing (double) insulin needs. Help?

Hello everyone. I am a Type 1 diagnosed only 3 years ago. In the last three weeks, something odd has been hapening. I noticed I was eating the exact same food and staying high, and then needing to correct two or three times, sometimes with upto 3 units per correction meals and with no luck bringing down numbers. Also, I have been waking up higher than my usual, around 9, 8 which is unusual and I am a standard 5 ish usually. I seem to recall the doctor saying that with LADA, things could... Read more
