I used to keep one workstation with Manjaro for a few years. I got tired of chasing this sort of stuff and converted it to Debian/XFCE like the rest of my machines. I rarely have to go hunting in Debian.

Hmm, okay, so I would need two different work benches or only PartDesign_Hole with a boolean operation. I just wonder why there is no easier in-built solution ... Why should there be? What good would it do for a BIM users? And what would be easier? What is more in-built than the Hole tool in Part Design? What is wrong with the Fasteners workbench? We are talking about Free CAD ...not "FreeSCREW designer".
An additional note. You can also undock toolbars and put them out side the main window or another monitor.

When rigth-clicking the 3d view you find an entry "Document Window" (Carefull, not in all workbenches. It works in Part Workbench). Thank you! Haven't tried others but in Spreadsheet, top menu: View -> Document Window -> Undocked. At long last I don't have to screenshot the spreadsheet and keep image viewer on the other screen to have a reference for all the dimension aliases.
I just wonder why there is no easier in-built solution This has already been discussed several times. We would need an equivalent to the "Hole" tool, but for a cylinder. Above all, we need a developer with time to dedicate to it, and that is what is most lacking.
I just wonder why there is no easier in-built solution If you choose the right workflow, it is easier. Start with the Fasteners threaded rod. Bring it into the PartDesign Body as a BaseFeature. Add some material to it, including a PD (threaded) Hole.
Hello everyone, I think it is great that someone is looking into part positioning in the Path Workbench and trying to improve it. I really appreciate the effort. My preferred workflow would actually be a little different: I would like to position my parts as needed and then create one or more Local Coordinate Systems (LCS) for the different machining setups. Ideally, these could be associated with a Fixture. For example, I could clamp a part in a fixture and define X0/Y0/Z0 exactly where I want it using a Local Coordinate System. I could then assign this LCS to a machine work offset, for example G55 or G59 P2, and use another LCS for another setup, for example G56. When creating an operation, I would then simply select which coordinate system the operation should use, for example: Work Coordinate System: LCS_1 / G55 or Work Coordinate System: LCS_2 / G56 This would make it much easier to work with multiple parts, fixtures and setups in one Job. It would also make things like a rotary table much easier to handle. I have never really understood why the Path GUI tries to move a part to X0/Y0/Z0 of the global FreeCAD coordinate system. I have already had several situations where this caused problems and messed up parts of my CAM setup. (...) It gets even more inconvenient when I have two different setups. I often create two separate Jobs for the two fixtures and then have to make sure afterwards that cutting speeds, feed rates, spindle speeds, tools, etc. are consistent between b

(3.8461538 dixit la calculette)" Je trouvais enfin un renseignement exploitable ! Oui, 39 filets = 38 intervalles = pas entre deux filets. 3.8461538 *3= 11,538461538 = 11.54, le pas de l'hélice.
