If this title isn't the epitome of my GX... Will post pics when possible. Replaced cracked radiator last Fall '24 along with rad cap, new upper and lower hoses, clamps, coolant (duh), and thermostat. After running it for a couple days, the upper hose would swell a lot (unusual). Figured there was too much pressure, so swapped the old rad cap back in and the swelling hose went away. Still running the same old rad cap and still not having any swelling of the hoses. Rad is keeping coolant in... Read more
Well, here goes again! After selling my G-Wagon, I wanted something that was better suited to a daily driver, and something that got better than 15mpg on the highway... So, I bought another Prado: This one is a 1991 SX5 with an R150f 5-speed manual. It is absolutely bone stock, with a whopping 107k km on the clock. Factory electric winch (as far as I could tell it had never been used till I got it), and an original cylinder head. So far I have put about 2000km on it in my... Read more
My 2006 LX470 is about 3 months old to me, and I’m trying to troubleshoot an A/C issue. When I bought the truck, the A/C would not blow hot air, so I replaced the A/C blend door/servo motor. After that, the temperature control started working, but I didn’t realize there was still an issue with the cooling performance because the weather was cold at the time. Now that I’ve been able to test it properly: Front A/C vent temperature: around 64–66°F , even with MAX COOL and... Read more
I am new to the 100 series. Coming from the 40 forum OCD Bettle has a really successful, fun thread where we post a pic of wheeling, a fix, a new part, etc. for our trucks. It's neat to see the mix of projects, daily driving issues, weekend wheelin reports, etc. I thought the 100 forum could use one... I'll start...today I ordered an Iron Man 2 inch lift kit for my 99'.

Hi, My name is Amit and I am a relatively new owner of a 2008 Toyota Landcruiser. I bought the truck about 6 months ago and have been spending a lot of time (and unfortunately money) baselining it to bring it to like new mechanical condition and some tasteful upgrades to modernize the interior and some exterior. Using this thread to build a build thread to document my journey and share learnings if anyone is interested. I have learnt so much from this forum and enjoyed the community of... Read more
Hello All: I'm one of your new moderators here in the 200 section of IH8MUD.com which is, ostensibly, the world largest and most important internet-based repository of LC knowledge and community. I am a devoted Cruiser Head and own a number of running and non-running Cruisers. My main goal in the 200 series section is difficult to declare in any manner that might not come across as being overly "cautious". I say this due to the contentious nature of discussion--historically--between... Read more
Hello folks! WiL here, I'm a noobie here from NW WA. I'm starting the adventure of a frame off resto-mod build. I fixed and owned a 78 fj40 in high school and 30 years ago as a broke collage student the local guy that stopped by my dads and beg to buy it won out. I always dreamed of building one and doing it right this time. So I found myself shopping for a 40. I found what seemed like a fair deal a meer 6hr drive away. I've never minded driving it's just part of the adventure. So I... Read more
In the spirit of similar threads for other models, post up and tell us what you were up to today working on your cruiser. ---------- Originally posted by hotgemini Today I finally got around to fixing the dash lights in my BJ74. Of all things a bloody rat had made a nest behind the dash and chewed on one of the looms. It had managed to sever a grand total of three wires, the power feed to the dash illumination dimmer pot and both wires to the air filter restriction warning... Read more
So, I thought it was time to post a build thread from the "LV parts wanted" thread. I've been working at getting this thing pieced together, collecting parts from all over the world, local, and from the LV network. Last March I acquired this LV from a Cruiser guru, talked him into selling his last LV at a swap meet, and the rest is history. After releasing it from the rafters in his barn, and carefully loading it on the the trailer with his tractor, the LV made it back home. I knew it... Read more
I know there's already a random picture thread but I felt that a dedicated cruiser spotting is always nice. If people don't agree mods can delete. I spotted this LX470 with what looked like KO2s and a frontrunner roof rack in Scottsdale today across from my bother in laws house.
