Bug: "null is not an object (evaluating 'r.icu_intervals')" when using Clear Intervals / Use Laps

Well, first of all, thank you very much for having such a close look at the matter. The activity is a training session for a downhill race, that’s why we didn’t use power (different pedals) and HR (sensor is bulky under the chest protector) for my son. His manually set lapstimes show up in both connect and strava, but not on intervals. I got that error message multiple times by the way, maybe all of this occurs just because there is neither HR nor Power streams in that activity file?

(Yet Another) AI Coach - Montis.icu

Question to Montis users out there That’s about building a plan for a 100k ultra run. What are the practical key steps you take to leverage both Intervals and Montis intelligence? I was thinking like: 1/ Add the various A/B/C races in Intervals calendar 2/ Block days/weeks where not available to train (e.g. holidays) 3/ Then in Montis use AI Builder v2 to plan the loads for each week (I can see various parameters there)? Then back to Intervals to check Calendar and the Workouts planned? As I’m going to use Stryd I need all workouts to refer to %FTP for the intensity targets. I spent the last couple of days between ChatGPT and Claude to come up with a “high level plan” but the suggested volume (hours/distance) each week don’t seem realistic (not challenging enough, surpisingly). I’m pretty sure Clive would respond but I’m also equaly interested for advanced Intervals/Montis users out there if they can share how they did for any recent ultra (ride or run whatever) planning. Thanks all in advance.

HRV, Trainer apps

Nice explanation, very kind of you. Basically, HRV Score is a way to make RMSSD more similar to what Whoop gives you… I feel. Or there’s a science behind I don’t know. Thanks again.

Average pace from intervals

Are both from the same activity type? And do you have custom fields for pace? For custom fields you can configure what is shown. Interval data table updates Announcements The interval data table on the activity data page now displays averages (with standard deviation) and totals for the selected intervals. Hover over interval group chips under the activity summary to highlight those rows on the table and click the chip to select. [Screenshot 2023-08-06 at 07.56.32] You can see the same data under the ride timeline chart. Click the “Intervals” drop down toggle under the chart (highlighted in blue here): [Screenshot 2023-08-06 at 07.54.22] For custom interval…

HRV, Trainer apps

I’m not using HRV4T, but I’m using the same method. RMSSD is the input to the HRV score which is 20 x Ln(RMSSD). RMSSD, as is, is something that is useful in research, just to make sure that the starting point is the same. Research applies a logarithmic conversion to the RMSSD and works with that. HRV score is different from app to app and thus can’t be compared or mixed for research. EliteHRV for example also has a HRV score but that is scaled to 10. They simply use 2 x Ln(RMSSD). In a nutshell: RMSSD is raw data and any app giving access to that number can cooperate in research HRV score is for the good apps always a logarithmic conversion of RMSSD but not all apps openly tell you what the exact conversion is. If HRV score makes use of other inputs, like training stress, sleep quantity/quality, etc, it is simply unusable for comparison to others.

Garmin ConnectIQ App

Folks, Just a heads up: new CIQ app supports both the F9 and publishes complications for inclusion in your custom watch faces.

HRV, Trainer apps

Thank you for the insights @MedTechCD When it comes to HRV Score from HRV4training, do you even use it or something similar? is it useful? Thanks!

Bug: "null is not an object (evaluating 'r.icu_intervals')" when using Clear Intervals / Use Laps

I have been thinking further about this and may have an explanation. Your activity files don’t have a Power and HR stream. Intervals is highly dependent on either Power/HR/Pace to calculate Load/TIZ/Intensity/etc… I think the issue arises because none of those streams are available in your activity file. When I set a Pace threshold on an additional category for this activity type, it works. But Pace threshold for MTB is totally unusable. @david Can you confirm that?

Whats a good VAM?

As others have said this will depend on many factors…but this is not the answer you want. So for the sake of comparison, let’s assume a half hour climb . World class - 1800-1900VAM Top level amateurs - 1700 Quite good amateurs (competitive) - 1300-1500 Average male intervals user on an 8% climb - 900 On shorter climbs you can add maybe 5-10%. All of this is obviously very ballpark. And one more thing, these numbers have risen quite a while over the past 10-20years. Good VAM used to be less, but there is inflation here too lol
