Trixiepup
Rockedge's TrixiePup64-xLibre ISO

Having just returned your TrixiePup64-retro-xLibre to my boot-menu I booted into it and ran synaptic Mark All Updates> Apply. A bunch of files were updated. Nothing got broken. Posting from it now. I've renamed its containing folder "Trixie-Rockedge". Previously I had used initials and forgot how they distinguished it from Trixipup-retro (peebee's latest version) with xlibre using your instructions. As long as synaptic continues to enable updating applications this Puppy greatly simplifies my desire to keep things current.

further development of BookwormPup64 ?

Rockedge published Trixie64-retro-xlibre.iso in June, https://mega.nz/file/GpAQEa7a#0xakhbgm9 ... EKmx68-WDM. It's likely hat it's builtin apt/synaptic file-managers can provide any subsequent bug fixes and software updates... Yes, The XLibre packages can be updated/upgraded via the APT package manager.

How to download Palemoon to Puppy f96-CE-4-RT NOT as portable?

@mikewalsh Hi Puppers, This is a quick and late update to the issue of what browser works with Canadian IRCC websites. Thank you Mike for the guarded suggestion of Chrome browser. I did install Chrome browser and it made my Puppy sick. Yes, probably something I did wrong in the set up. The sorta good news is that Canada updated some of their apps that helped ease the situation. However, in-the-meantime I intend to switch to a newer Puppy and leave my FossaPup covered with Chrome browser ticks in the scratch pile. I am assuming that "Trixie" is the next puppy out of the box? I'll wander over Trixie's direction and see if she is still up for adoption. Sky

Rockedge's TrixiePup64-xLibre ISO

In my notes was this URL, https://mega.nz/file/GpAQEa7a#0xakhbgm9 ... EKmx68-WDM for "Trixie64-retro-xlibre.iso." Don't recall where it came from, who published it, or when. Does anyone know its origin? Never mind. Found it. It's by rockedge in June, viewtopic.php?p=172233#p172233 I jump into Trixie64-retro-xlibre using the ISO a lot on VirtualBox and QEMU virtual machines. I like the XLibre twist and should allow updates to the XLibre packages!

File manager doesnt open when saving files - A possible bug on 13.0.59?

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I've been in the kennels. But it feels good to be back. I had started encountering this problem a few weeks ago when I tried to upload a photo to an imageboard. I clicked the button to upload files, but nothing opened. I tried it in another website to try to change my profile picture - nothing. I then tried to download something. The download never appears in the top right corner where the downloads usually are (on Librewolf). I thought it was just an issue on Librewolf, so I went to LibreOffice and tried to save one of my files, but no luck. After trying to save as/export as, zzzFM never opened, and it actually just closes the window. Now, I was able to find out how to use images on Librewolf given that drag and drop feature is present, I just open zzzFM and drag the file into the space. But that isn't a solution to the other things I need. Additionally, I tried some troubleshooting in Librewolf, going into the advanced config settings. It offered a temporary solution, but by the next day I wasn't able to save. Even clicking on "change folder/directory" button on Librewolf closes the entire window. So, does anyone else using this version of Vanilla Dpup experience this too? I know it is in beta, and not stable (as much as a Debian based distro could be), so some little blunders like this are bound to slip through the cracks. I am still trying to troubleshoot, but if you have a solution, a permanent one, please tell me. If not I am just

What will be the next official version of Puppy Linux? ( now discussion of Puppy development direction)

Forget I mentioned Tiny Core. Purely to satisfy my own curiosity I’ve been having a look at it, and it would take me far too long to get my head round the workings of it. Same goes for the Barker Build kit. As I’ve said previously somewhere, I’ve become rather idle in my old age. There are so many Linux distros that are simple and work perfectly straight out of the box, how much time do I spend messing around with ones that don’t? None! There have been occasions in the past when I’ve read about something that sounds interesting, downloaded the iso and put it on my Ventoy USB stick. Then found it won’t even boot up in the first place. Doesn’t it like my hardware, doesn’t it agree with Ventoy, or is there some other reason? Don’t know and don’t care, I just delete it and forget about it. Chances are next one I try will be fine. I don’t know if anyone else has a similar viewpoint, but what the hell, at least I admit it. the demands of the modern web are what has driven power requirements for the average user. The price of "Progress" I can't help wondering how much resources would be required if it wasn't for all the ads, trackers and other spyware attached to some websites. As you say, "progress".

🐧🔥 ¿F96CE_XFCE_FUSILLI — ¿Quién dijo que Puppy Linux no podía verse así de bien? 🐧🔥

Problems loading LibreCAD AppImage from dot.desktop file

When you click an AppImage in ROX, it's not executed directly, but goes through /usr/local/bin/run-appimage script, which has some work arounds for certain AppImages. One of them is unsetting LD_LIBRARY_PATH env variable, so system QT libs don't interfere with those embedded in an AppImage. If your desktop file contains, e.g.: Exec=/path/to/some.AppImage , changing it to Exec=run-appimage /path/to/some.AppImage should do the job. Greetings!
