Which forum was a toss up, as I find this in a used Epiphone El Segundo acoustic bass. Although if one believes the Internet, it is an acoustic guitar pickup control panel. The obvious top does have a slider which moves towards the controls and the bottom has a hinge. However, when the slider is depressed there is no reasonably cautious force or prying which seems to open the cover. I surmise there is a battery holder, latch component or spring out of proper position and it has the door... Read more

my old cable/everything bag is dead, long live the bag. so im putting together a new one. its where i put everything i need for a gig including troubleshooting and quick fixes, other than guitar and amp. it has a space big enough for a 17" x 12.5" pedal board, and im working on ideas of what would go on the board. i have a ton of pedals laying around and play blues rock for the most part. this is my current idea, but im happy to hear suggestions. the only limitation is the 17"x12.5"... I am trying to figure out how to install these 2 pickups (Nazgul sentient rail set). I messed up the original switch so I replaced it with a fender 5 way super switch. Trying to keep the stock selector profiles that the rg550 came with. This is what I made by converting each wire to seymour colors. Is this correct? If not can somebody please assist me? The fender 5 way super switch has me very confused.
The guitar was listed on Facebook a week ago or so, and ever since I saw it, it's been gnawing on my mind. So earlier, I drove up to the store, deciding to try it out. I already have a lot of guitars, and I didn't need another one in this shape for sure, but I had to put my mind to rest. Bad idea. I was hooked immediately, and haggled the price and took it home. So to my humble abode, I bid thee welcome, my new Navigator NLP-480LTD And yes, if you look to the top right corner, that's... Read more
I'm getting curious about the PRS SE series, any user here? Any opinion about? Particular models I should watch for? I tried a few in some shop but they've never activated my GAS yet, but they are objectively beautiful pieces of gear
Two closed-back Cannabis Rex-loaded 1x12 cabs with custom blue snakeskin tolex and a removable back panel to operate as a 33% open cab if I want to. Dude only took about 2 weeks to build these after receiving the tolex and speakers from me. He does great work! Now I'm patiently waiting for guitarfeak to work on converting my old Traynor YCV50 Blue from a combo amp into a head. That will take some more time but these cabs are ready to be shipped to me. I'll take my own photos and share them... Read more
I have a Tele with a Alnico II Pro neck pickup and a Jerry Donahue bridge pickup. I bought the Alnico II as recommended by the website for a good match with the Jerry Donahue. The JD pickup is so much louder than the Alnico II without lowering it to just slightly above the bridge and cranking up the Alnico II as far as it will go. The JD doesn't sound as good. How can I fix this? Do I need to dump the Alnico II? I wouldn't recommend this combination to anyone!
I'm just curious: does anybody know why every humbucker sized P90 around has a metal cover and not a plastic cover like P90s use? Does a plastic cover HB sized P90 exists?
A while earlier, I sold off my JVM and stopped playing for a very short bit (I was still buying gear though lol) Now that I'm a bit "back", I went on Marketplace for a new amp and lo and behold! Well... it's an amp and holy shit this thing sounds good rofl The knobs and switches were giving me options paralysis, but I think I can make do with the settings i'm using now I have half a mind to change the trannies to something lighter, though. Holy shit this thing is heavier... Read more
Joe Bonamassa “Pawn Shop Special” Most guitar players have had the experience of walking into a pawn shop, hoping to strike gold, only to find a limited selection of instruments that are far from inspiring. But sometimes with the right combination of luck, a great guitar can be found hanging on the wall of your local pawnbroker. Joe Bonamassa found one such gem, a 1961 Gibson® SG™ Special, at a pawn shop while on tour in 2010. Not only was it a pristine example of... Read more
