Hi my horses are gradually reducing and I don’t think I will replace them as they sell or pass away. I have 7 acres now free and want to offer it to someone as grazing as I know how difficult it is to find. I don’t want to take any responsibility for land management, horse care etc. Is it legally an option to rent land and put onus on tenant regarding management, upkeep etc security etc. it would be long term lease it’s not near my home so I wouldn’t be bothering anyone by hanging around. it... Just for a bit of fun - what is your dream horse setup and do you have it? Mine would be a 3 bedroom old stone cottage with a few acres attached and an old stone barn or outbuildings that could be used as a couple of stables and somewhere to store hay. Waking up and being able to see the horses out the window and walk out the back door and have them there has always been a dream since I was young. Dex got kicked in the field 2 weeks ago, small cut just above his knee that looked innocuous so cleaned and creamed and then 2 days later his knee blew up to a melon size so had the vet out. Week of antibiotics and bute, swelling down but still equally lame. X-ray and ultrasound now done and they have found infection in there remodelling the top layer of bone, plus a small chunk out of it from the original injury. Help!! I think I've fallen head first down a rabbit hole. My plan for the winter is for my 3 to live out with adlib hay in a trickle net and no hard feed. I have 3 welsh ponies so this isn't beyond the realms of possibility (2 D and a small C). My land is well draining and they have shelter etc. But I want to make sure they have everything they needs as I won't be supplementing with any form of bucket feed (ridden horse will have a feed after work but that's it). Recruitment is now open for my PhD study investigating if a new sound-based intervention can help with dog behaviours such as reactivity, hyperactivity and distractibility. Sadly, this beautiful yearling was put to sleep this morning after becoming very unwell. His owner is now trying to raise funds for a necropsy/post-mortem examination, in the hope of getting some answers and exploring whether Equine Grass Sickness may have been involved. This is heartbreaking for everyone who loved and cared for him, but if the examination can help provide answers — and potentially contribute to a better understanding of grass sickness — then something valuable may come... Hi, I'm new here - posting from East Riding of Yorkshire!

I've moved yards a few months ago and, at the moment, I'm finding the commitment of having two horses quite overwhelming. I've also lost a bit of my confidence (not riding per say but more Im alone alot so everything feels like alot more effort) and lacking enthusiasm. My long-term plan is to drop down to one horse eventually, but unfortunately the one I'm looking to sell has recently come up lame after a field incident, although thankfully healing well, so I'm stuck with both for the time...
