Just got quotes from Co-operators for my 76 CB750 F and my 68 CD125. $121 and $114 respectively. Max 3000kms per year and no commuting. Since these bikes are for plunking around, not pounding big miles and as I'm retired there is no commute.

A friend of mine is thinking about replacing his ST after owning it since 2011. He no longer does long trips and multi-day rides that bike is designed for, and is looking for something much lighter and nimbler for local riding, but similar seating position, performance and reliability as well as the ability to add luggage temporarily if he does decide to do a longer trip once in a while. The first thing that came to mind was a Yamaha Tracer 9. Any other suggestions? I Assume he wants to... Read more

Bumper facia has faded to grey. Before I drop $20 on McQuires Ultimate Black, has anyone used this stuff or have another product known to work?
My wife's trusty Chrysler 300 is still ticking and looking good...but sometime this next fall/winter it will roll over to 400,000+ kilometres and be headed for 500,000 by the end of next year. Not that I expect it to blow up In the short term or anything, however it will be getting long in the tooth and we are contemplating end of life plans. For quite a few years now we have been contemplating an EV but the math on the cost versus savings potential didn't make sense for us purely... Read more
Happy to Monday to me....FML...wife tells me this morning that the washer isn't working properly. Turns out it's not draining the water and the rinse cycle isn't working. Anyone know where to turn (or recommend) a place/guy for appliance repair? My typical guy flaked out and isn't available and I need this done sooner rather than later. Hoping not to have to buy a new washer and dryer, but would prefer to repair as I'm a firm believer of keeping things going without buying unnecessarily... Read more
Power went out during a storm yesterday. Lightning was right on top of us. I pulled out the generator and went to work keeping the fridges and sump pump running. Local news said power was out in my area so I patiently waited. 3 hours later it's getting dark and I notice the houses around me have lights on. Decided to check panel and the main breaker (2x100a) was tripped. Reset it and back in business. Just wondering if I should call someone or chalk it up as a fluke.
Anyone here ever ridden to Newfoundland? I've never been before and this seems like a great way to spend 3 weeks in Aug/Sept instead of riding in the US. Asides from visiting Gros Morne and camping there, I know absolutely nothing about the Rock. Not sure if I'll do this trip clockwise or counterclockwise, but I would definitely plan take each ferry (St Barbe and Port Aux Basques). So on one part of the trip I would be riding through Labrador city and the other part will ride around Cape... Read more
Wondering if prescription riding glasses are worth the cost, my eyes aren't what they used to be and for distance i'm thinking of looking at prescription riding glasses. Has anyone got any thoughts they can share or experience using them?
With much of the country on near lock down it seemed as good a time as any to finally start up a liquor/spirit talk thread here . There's a scotch thread but nothing else and rather than add a bunch different threads for different spirits/liquors that will get buried here's a catch-all thread. I've been meaning to start this for a year at least. Talk about anything and everything liquor/spirit related. Let me start this off. I'm a... Read more
Hi everyone, I'm a new rider just got my M2. I've been looking at options for my first bike and I'd really like an Aprilia RS457, but I noticed something odd when asking for insurance quotes. It looks like it's been classified as a Supersport bike even though it's aimed at beginners. For some context, I'm 30 years old, in the GTA and have a 14 year clean driving record. Here are some of the annual quotes I got: Honda CBR650R - $2321 Kawasaki Ninja 500 SE - $2232 Yamaha R3 - $2041 Aprilia... Read more
