Hi all, About 2–3 weeks ago, I received a set of IEM cables from Nightcraft Audio on loan, as part of their Australia tour. Plugging a planar magnetic IEM into the Mac Mini produces audible hum. Plugging any dongle-DAC into the Mac Mini still produces the same hum (Protocol Max 4.4mm, DTC480 4.4mm, DTC 100 Pro 3.5mm). And now I have the Topping DX3 Pro+ with independent AC power and receiving optical audio, still hum. To temporarily eliminate the hum I can touch the chassis of the Mac Mini/DX3 Pro+. Due to some favorable impressions on the 'net, I bought the just-released Aiyima T20 Fully Balanced Tube Preamp. Attractions included the low price considering fully balanced input/output, tubes being used for actual gain not just buffer, remote control, and socketed opamps for rolling. With the stock LME49720 opamps and Psvane 12AX7 tubes, the result was more than respectable but not quite worth inserting into the system... Read more

Through my love of IEM, I've met several Head-Fi'ers from Singapore. One of them ( audio123 ) had high praise for Jomo, an IEM / CIEM manufacturer in Singapore. In fact, he introduced me to Joseph, the man behind Jomo. Before I knew it, I was in possession of a beautiful pair of Jomo 6R to test out and give feedback to the Head-Fi community. So has the title suggest, I took a big plunge in the IEM world earlier yesterday and just received my first High End IEM today. The famous 64 Audio U12t . Thanks to Nick at Noteworthy Audio, I was able to get me a brand new set for a fair price. The shipping from GTA Ontario to Montreal took less then 24 hrs to arrive and was packed like a brand new product of this class should be.
