Unusual Table

Hi all. My brother is bringing me a vertical mill with an unusual table. Google picture AI states it's part of a tracing mill, though I don't see any other indicators of that on.the mill. If it is thankfully all the manual controls are there. Anyone have any knowledge to share? As always TIA!

Keep One, Leave One Game

Simple game... 1. Highway Traffic 2. Traffic Stop 3. Pit Stop 4. Snake Pit 5. Snake Charmer You get the idea... I'll start... Chicken Sandwich OP edit: well, this thread seems to have been received well! lol. I can't claim originality to this though, I stole the idea from the forum over at Tacoma World. If you think this... Belt sander

Just got me a 1" Delta belt sander. I intend to use it for some touch ups, edge breaking, maybe touch off a sharped bit. Any suggestions as to grit and material to use? Thanks

My new to me compressor with diy dryer

I took me a week to get the thread on the pump figured out. I know about bleeding tanks and this one had the bottom bleeder frozen. Needless to say I knew it was mistreated and I promptly took to investigating a cooler/dryer setup. I paseed on a commercial one I seen at auction because I was 200$ deep in this one ( if I would only have waited a week ) so I mustered on to this point. I’m waiting on my 3/8” elbow so I can solder a new unloaded valve/tank intake fitting with a NPT thread on it... Read more

OrcaSlicer-WaveOverhangs

Wave overhangs are a new-to-me approach to handling overhang problems with FDM prints. I'm seeing some overhang related problems with some pulleys I'm printing -- the channel profile is a modified U shape with slightly sloped walls to (hopefully) increase the belt-to-pulley friction. Some folks online have said that wave overhangs are good for plain 90 degree overhangs but not if they're angled -- but the Github page says otherwise. Has anyone here used Orca slicer with the wave overhangs... Read more

What a joke medicare GLP-1 bridge is.

Last year GLP1 was signed in , and is to be covered by medicare under the GLP1 Bridge. My Dr has never been able to get one patient covered. But he gave me a script. Well it's rejected because I have sleep apnea. Usually they go hand in hand, not always. But heavy overweight people usually have sleep apnea. Anyway, there is no recourse, talking with the powers that be insist that sleep apnea is the reason for rejection. Imagine being told you can't have the weight reduction because you are... Read more

Deep cleaning takisawa tsl 800, cross slide questions.

So I'm removing the rust and deep cleaning of my new to me takisawa tsl800 (never worked on a lathe before). I took apart the tool post and cross slide for cleaning, because it wasn't smooth at all, and I have some questions. I changed both thrust bearings, cleaned up the 2 part brass fittings where the screw goes into, removed all the rust from the ways etc. Now that everything inside is clean with fresh way oil, I noticed if I tightened the 2 brass fittings screws, it gets extremely... Help figure out why my spindle sticks

Hey all, back with another question about my 9a. As of late my spindle is sticking, and i cant isolate the cause. I did go through and do a full tear down and cleaning last year, replacung oil wicks. I have been dillgent about oiling prior to each use, and topping off during prolonged projects. The symptoms I am noticing, is that the spindle occasionally needs a turn by hand when i turn the motor on, typically as things warm up. It does seem to stick at the bearing closest to the chuck... Is it AI or is it me?

Ever since I realized I was helping AI by watching any of its videos I make it a point to not watch them. Now it seems like I get part way thru a video and then see where it says it is made with AI. Seriously I look carefully to see ifit is an AI video before watching it yet seems like they are being sneaky and not provding info that says it is AI until after you are part way into the video. And some of the other videos that do not self identify as AI produced you can see that the audio is... Read more

95 Dodge 2500, or stupidity on wheels.

So, I'm apparently a 2nd Gen dodge pickup collector, as I have 2 of them now. Back in ought 3 I picked up a 97 Cummins 2wd reg cab long box 5 speed. 95k miles on her. Still have it. 245k miles now. KDP fix, lots of tires, lots of engine oil, filters, ball joints and a starter. Right as rain every day. Couldn't be happier. So a week ago, I found her sister..... a v10 auto extended cab. Figured I'd have the same good luck with this one as I did my diesel. Uhm.....not so much.... So, I'm... Read more

No spill oil cup

Right now I have a couple of these floating around. Amazon.com: Sargent Art 12 Non-Spill Paint Cups, Funnel shaped cap, Spill-Proof, White Cap, Inner rim seals Shop Sargent Art at the Amazon Arts, Crafts & Sewing store. Free Shipping on eligible items. Save on everyday low prices. a.co These are very cheaply made no spill cups for kids paint. They pop open as often as they avoid spills. A forum member generously sent me some cutting oil to try out. I definitely don't want to bump it and watch it soak into the floor....I'd be mortified. I'm hoping to buy something pre-made rather than build something. Any good inexpensive options?
