Lightroom Mobile and iPhone Duo

With Apple's Announcement on a folding iPhone, how is Lightroom mobile going to manage the different screen(s) aspect ratio. Will the iPadOS version of Lightroom mobile or the iOS version be used? Or will Adobe need to reconfiguer a different aspect ratio for the different layout?

Looking for Lightroom workflow suggestions with in camera focus stacking in Canon mirrorless

I am looking for suggestions as to ways I can improve my workflow for dealing with focus stacks in Lightroom. I have a Canon R5ii that I often use for in camera focus stacking (called "focus bracketing" by Canon). It takes a series of .CR3 (compressed RAW) files at focal distances starting at the initial focus point and then extending towards infinity until either infinity is reached or you press the shutter button again to stop the process. The camera then creates a focus stacked jpeg... Read more

Publish Service exported file has different EXIF data than normal export

Hi all, I use Publish Services (currently on Lr Classic 15.5.1) to populate a folder on my Synology NAS. Correct date/time fields are imperative for the Synology to sort the photos correctly. In general, the date/time fields get exported very well using Publish Services. However, while troubleshooting some older photos that appeared at the top of the list, I made the following discovery, hold your breath: A photo exported via Publish Service has a different EXIF than the same photo... macOS Finder search points to Lr Previews folder - solved

Hello all, I wanted to follow up on an older topic I started called "macOS Finder search points to Lr Previews folder", however that topic has been closed for further replies. The fix I found is to make sure the catalog is stored inside the proprietary /Pictures folder. No issues since. Before, the catalog was stored on a data folder (see M1 Data below) I created myself: For some reason that I cannot understand, spotlight searches listed results inside the catalog... Read more

What Do You Enjoy Most About Photography?

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and interested in photography and Lightroom. I had love to hear what everyone enjoys most about photography. Do you mainly take landscapes, portraits, travel photos, or something else? Also, what Lightroom feature do you use the most for editing your photos? Looking forward to hearing everyone’s experiences!

AI Sharpen (Topaz) reduced the file size

I just tried the AI Sharpen feature in LRD using some of my soon to be expired monthly credits. My original file was a RAW (CR2) file 1662 x 2494 MP. The AI Sharpen feature created a reduced DNG file 778 x 1167 MP. Is that normal or am I missing some settings somewhere ?

Where did my lrcat go?

I came home from a trip at the end of August to discover that my iMac had suffered a hard drive failure, it wouldn't start. I took the Intel iMac and my Time Machine backup drive to my local Mac repair shop, where they replaced the hard drive but found that they couldn't restore from my backup drive because I had opened the drive on a newer M1 iMac which had somehow make the Time Machine backup useless on the iMac it had backed. OK, I've bought a new M4 iMac and have access to the image... Read more

Revert to original image

Is there a way within Lightroom to completely delete all edits and revert to the original unedited image? I understand you can reset, adding a step to I think go back to the original, but all the previous edits are preserved. The only way I know to completely start over is to delete the image from Lightroom and the reimport it as a new image. Is there an easier way? I know I should create a virtual copy before doing any extensive edits, but sometimes I forget! Thanks. Randal

Some basic layer vs smart object questions and some sizing issues....

I tried this on the Adobe site, but struck out. I have a few related issues that I cannot for for life of me figure out as a Basic beginner with Photoshop. Latest version on Mac. First: I have a physical transparent scale used for measuring stamps that I have scanned as a .jpeg at 1200ppi. While it's on transparent plastic film, it does have some writing on it and a background from scanning which I would like to remove and just see the numerical measuring hashes. When I go through the... Read more

Why is Adobe RAW engine still encoded into ProPhoto RGB gamut?

I am sure everyone of us noticed the overly saturated colors Lightroom is shoving us down the throat over the years. They even changed the math of camera profiles to tame them a bit, but they never, ever touched the basic flaw of it's algorithm, the use of a gamut that has imaginary colors well outside what the natural-humanly visible Lab space is capable of. While none of use could ever see those color, nor will ever be a device capable of displaying them, what we'll get instead is that... Read more
