Firstly - I am a motorcyclist and cyclist, so I see things from both view points... In France, I've seen plenty of motorcycle's parking in amongst clearly signed cycle parking racks, which means that cyclists cannot safely lock their bikes to the racks. Is this selfish activity by the motorcyclists? The other one which may be selfish parking is a tractor and trailer taking up 3 of the 4 motorhome bays on an Aire du Camping Car, even through it is clearly signed that parking is only for... Hi Jim, We are both retired, living near Glasgow and looking to buy our first motor home. Going to the NEC in October, can you please tell us if the dealers have lists of preloved vehicles? The maximum length we can buy is 6.5 metres and really like the look of the Burstner Lyseo Harmony Line 590, however are open minded. We joined your site to learn and avoid any pitfalls in all aspects of motor homing from you and the motor home fun community. Kind regards Cenad
Our faux leather seat covers are flaking off (like everyone else's). So we need to replace them all ( and that seems mighty costly). I have looked at previous threads on here and taken some names down of recommended upholsterers. Just wondering if good quality vinyl is as good as leather (durability and comfort wise). I am guessing not but checking with open mind. We have A class Bavaria i600. Any opinions/advice/recent recommendations/ price ideas all gratefully accepted. Thank you
Does anyone know when DFDS open bookings for May 2027? I tried contacting them but they haven’t bothered to reply. I thought I’d ask here in case it’s a glitch with my laptop and the website.
Can anyone recommend good books to read. I mostly read novels among my favourite authors are John Grisham , Robert Crais, Michael Connolly, Robert B Parker. Also fantasy stuff like game of thrones, lord of the rings. Historical novels Bernard Cornwell ect Some non fiction Alan Sugar's autobiography was a interesting read.
Fiat ducato with hud has just stopped working. Internet suggested checking loose connections in fuse area under steering wheel. Found a connector just hanging there with no obvious home. Any body had same issue with a possible solution. Cheers.
At a loss what to offer at an apero while en France? Follow me for further catering tips…….
I’ve booked for a crossing on this ferry on the 8th September… anyone any experience on this route they can share please? Things like decent boats and facilities, usual sea conditions, quality of food, punctuality etc Thanks in advance
My Chuggabug roof was like a football pitch at the end of last winter. I have purchased a breathable cover for this coming winter. Is there an optimum way to treat the roof prior to putting the cover on for winter to minimise moss and 'greenery'?
Fire Engine to site Yesterday apparently Bailey Adamo caught Fire .... someone said smelt like Electrical issue , don't know anymore No one hurt.
We ask this as we had a mobile home in France for years and used to leave our little dog in their for up to 4 hours in the same way as we would when at home. We were on our own plot and the home generally stayed cool (cooler than outdoors). Of course if we had hot weather then we never left him. A big part of our use for our motorhome when we get one will be to have a couple of long stays in Brittany (spring and autumn) and use it similar to our mobile home, stay a while in one place after... Once again one of us (Rog this time, whew) forgot to lock our top drawer shut and it threw itself all over the van when cornering, needing the wood filler treatment before reassembly. What I’d really like is a set of catches that automatically lock when the drawer is closed, and that you have to press in to open - the reverse of what we have now. Do such drawer locks / catches exist?
