So, I got 2 or 3 ideas for a SaaS, and I know there's demand in all of those even though it clearly varies; one definitely has a smaller market. All of them already have solutions that exist but the idea would be to find complaints and make it better. However, I don't know what the best way to validate those ideas is so I can pick the "best" one and go with it. So I think I found an idea that has potential but the big problem that I see with it is that it's an app that communicates with an existing software that exposes their API. There are a lot of apps like that that seems solid made by a decent team but my problem with it is that if the software itself adds the same capability then you lose your business overnight. I believe MJ talks about it in MFL or Unscripted but that came to mind so I don't know if it's something I should stay away of... Read more

If you're starting in business from zero, you may have stumbled upon opinions such as: build a local business, there's less competition, more demand, and if you pick up the phone, you'll already ahead, build a B2B business, it's easier to sell to businesses and sales are more sticky, copy an existing service and make it slightly better, don't invent anything new. I know of a guy in my city, knew him from highschool - he used to be friends with some guys I knew. That was like 5-6 years ago though. Recently saw him popping off on instagram, kinda larping type, but he's not no celebrity, but seems to be making good money off ecommerce.
