There is an online story. One of those good ones were they would post a chapter every two or three days. The heroine (this story is from a teenage girl's point of view) finally found the keys to the gun safe. This is a post-apocalyptic world story. The end of the world as we know it, when the poop has hit the fan. And her parents were killed in a car wreck years ago, so she left where she was being raised and headed north to her family's 40 acres. Which was now her 40 acres since she was the... Welp, I intend on taking my Hopkins and Allen falling block 12 ga with me this fall while pheasant hunting. I have all of the components ready, including brass hulls. Any suggestions on the 2F charge by volume? I'll probably be tinker a bit but I'll be pushing #5 copper plated shot.
I am new now don't hurt my wee little feelings. What is your take on engraving/ game scene/ bulino? Take it or leave it? As well as gold triggers? What are the circumstances that engraving really makes the firearm for you? Pictures of some I have admired lately. I am trying to narrow down the right types of firearms to showcase and I want to learn what really makes or breaks it.
Moderators, if this is in the improper forum please move. Thank you! So I'm an old geezer with very limited technical skills. Intrigued by the possibilities offered by VR shooting systems. Looking for goggles/"firearms" that offer a realistic training/shooting experience. Would like to practice up for the looming zombie apocalypse and/or go back to western Europe in 1944 to avenge my relatives. Little interest in flat-range paper or metal target simulators, and zero in joy-stick video games... VR training question
Has anyone ever seen or heard of the Spp1 underwater pistol?
I recently acquired a Mosin-Nagant 91/30 and I noticed that the bore looked REALLY cruddy. I want to shoot this weapon but am afraid to because of the condition of the bore. I noticed some rifling, but the barrel is dark with raised segments of either buildup or fouling. I googled and got several answers on which cleaner, oil, rust remover and or polish. What can I do to either restore as much of the rifling as possible and get this to become an every once and awhile shooter. I leave it to... Mosin 91/30 with a sewer pipe for a bore! What can I do?

I have been searching for a Ruger LCRx in .22 WMR with a 3" barrel. I ran across a few with the 1-7/8" barrel, but not the 3" barrel, that is until today. I decided on the spur of the moment to stop by my favorite LGS, just to see what they had. Their case was filled with everything from a Ruger Super Redhawk to a Taurus TX22. I was looking over the revolvers and just did not see anything that "I just had to have". I was talking to the owner and was about to leave, when I decided to... As scarce as hen's teeth, and I found one!
Yesterday picked up nice S&W M-10 4” HB, today picked up another stray M-10. This was had a small problem with the cylinder release. It didn’t but I wasn’t going to argue. Small adjustment, just tightening cylinder did the trick. This one is 4” pencil barrel. About same condition as the 4”HB, little exterior wear but very good mechanically. Also have a lead on another. Not sure what it will turn out to be. Can’t expect lightning to strike 3 times in a row.
I am looking for suggestions to open carry my Ruger Redhawk 5.5" barrel 44MAG. On the few occasions I would be carrying it, it would be carried while I am assisting in farm chores or moving through brush, so I do not want the gun to be in the way. Any advice on shoulder vs belt carry and actual manufacturer models would be appreciated.
Locally i havent seen any red dot powder on the shelf for a couple years. I'll admit I havent done a great job of checking often. Is anyone else seeing a shortage of it? What would you recommend as a replacement, assuming it is on the shelf?
When I go to the range, I judge my improvement by shooting at a 3" diameter target at various distances depending upon the gun, caliber and load. Being an average at best shooter I strive to get most shots within the 3" diameter but all within a 4" zone. Those beyond the 4" I consider misses. I am comfortable with the following and wonder how they compare to your personal shooting distance expectations. GP100 4.2" barrel SA with a 357MAG 125GR or 158GR at 15-20yards GP100 4.2" barrel... What are your revolver or pistol Normal Shooting Distance expectations?
