First let me say if you want an automatic knife you should have one. I also understand the benefits of a knife that I can open with one hand. I won't carry a knife can't open with one hand but I never had a specific need for an automatic knife. Had an opportunity to pick up a P226 DAO in .40 S&W. S/N is just after transitions to US production. Has rail under the slide and no beaver tail or safety. Finish inside and out has no wear or scratches …. Like new! Box, paperwork and LE 12 Rnd mag. It’s my first 40 and DAO other than Glocks. Comments appreciated on the model / problems, caliber and the DAO capabilities. Really used to the Beretta in the Marine Corps. Thanks. Jim

Specifically the Ruger Security 380. I shot my first .380 reloads using 2.9gr of Titegroup and didn't like how black and dirty they got on one side of the case. I'm thinking I could go up to 3.2gr to get better case obturation in the chamber, but the book max for Hodgdon with a 100gr bullet is 3.0gr. This 19 year old man was carrying a concealed handgun at a mall and used it to stop an active shooter who murdered 1. He is a hero. He got charged with carrying a gun without a permit. A permit that he could not obtain as he was only 19 and you need to be 21 to apply for a permit to carry in Michigan. This is an odd question. Should seem easy. But I’m getting super frustrated with this rifle that I waited 8 months for. It’s a Ruger M77/44 from SWS Rifle works. Before I go on, I am not bashing them, they have been very helpful. But I really don’t want to send it back for a second time. I have tried Rem 44 special and HSM 44 Special. Both feed fine from the mag. Both go super sonic and are quite loud. BOTH will not extract after firing. I sent the gun back to SWS. It came back a few weeks... Read more

In the past, I never bought Tikka, but finally gave in to the many positive reports and bought a Tikka T3X Super Varmint .223. With Tax, shipping. etc. I coughed up about $1700. At the time, I rationalized that to get a really good rifle, I needed to spend the money. Plus, it has a 1:8 twist and would accommodate heavier bullets. I thought this would be a nice thread in the gunsmithing and repairs forum, like the What have you done in the reloading room or what new gun threads for example. Today I took my 1952 Polish Tokarev and circa 1915 - 1917 Mauser C-96 Broomhandle to the range and chronographed four different loads. I have a Garmin Xero C1 chronograph. The temperature today was around 48 - 49 degrees F. My range is at about 160 feet above sea level. I clocked three 7.62x25 loads in the Tokarev, along with some 7.63 Mauser. Was told that Sig P226 to 40 S&W from 357 Sig only requires a barrel change. Mags and Slide are good to go. Thanks Jim
