Engine Hood Exterior Plastic Issue

Hi, anybody else experiencing an issue with the exterior plastic on and around the vehicle’s engine hood. I’ve noticed recently a deterioration on the two plastic panels directly attached to the hood, and also the plastic under and between the windshield wipers. Photo attached. Possibility of heat from the engine bay causing this, maybe (?). You can see in the photo that between the wipers there looks to be discolouration aligned directly with the vents below it. Thoughts?

Not necessarily IG related, but…

So, after a recent trip in excess of 6 hours to and from Galveston, TX for a vacation, I developed piriformis syndrome that appeared to be primarily related to the wallet I carried in my right rear pocket. Yes, I know, put the wallet in the console. This works if you don’t habituate to putting your wallet in your pocket after filling up the IG with gas. We all know about how much the IG likes to be fed. I searched for an alternative that was smaller and would hopefully let me switch to a... Read more

Building out an essentials tool kit

I am not new to offroading & overlanding, but it's been nearly 30 years since I have really done it. Ever since buying my Grenadier I have had a strong desire to get back into it. I have every possible option on my '24 Fieldmaster including a winch. So I wanted to start putting together an essentials bag for things I would need when I'm away from civilization. I asked ChatGPT to help me put together a list of items that I should get. Some of the things I already have (mostly the tools)... Read more

Another Driveshaft Question..

I know there's been a ton of discussion about the front driveshaft issue, and maybe somebody has already asked this (sorry) - I've had my Grenadier for over a year now and have had absolutely ZERO problems with it, love everything about it. The only thing that gives me pause is the idea that this front driveshaft failure is 100% going to happen to me at some point. Given that there is a tendency for people to use online forums for complaints rather than praise - I'm wondering what the... Read more

Steering slop no more..

Somewhere on my 3100+ mile trip up and back from the San Juan Islands I realized that my steering had become worse along the trip. I spent some time thinking about it across Montana and decided I would try a new steering damper.. I installed the Fox 2.0 and set it somewhere around 14 click toward firm. It was a massive improvement and immediately. This morning I was curious about the stock one and noticed something. The bushing were nowhere close to be centered anymore and without... Read more

Random pictures of you travels

Couldn’t find a thread that suited this theme. I’m travelling without my Grenadier so didn’t seem appropriate to post in “Logslitters travels in his Grenadier “ So here goes for anyone to post their travel photos and a brief description. Up in the Nilgiri hills of southern India. We were a few vehicles back from the coach and got out to see what the hold up was, on this narrow road with many hairpin bends. Basically all the young dudes in their Mahindra “Jeeps” keep overtaking everyone on... Read more

K0NRZ Wagon Build

Figured it was time to start my build thread. I'm in Colorado Springs and I am replacing https://myfjcruiser.org with a Grenadier Wagon. We have had the truck for about 10 months and I'm finally digging into the install of the AUX 12 volt system.

ItsDchz Build Thread - Eldoret Blue Trialmaster CenCal - Blue Rhino

**DISCLAIMER** Why do I post sooooo many pics? I have been on automobile forums since inception of forums. More than I care to list.. or remember I believe in the power of the forums to answer that question as easily as possible, or help make the quick fix, project easier, or give context to the, what’s behind that panel, question. I have always appreciated those who took the time to document the how-to. I unapologetically apologize for so many pics, but, if it has helped you, you are... Read more
