Hi everyone, After getting my Pioneer DEH-P88RS working again, I've started looking through the rest of my old car audio equipment. I stopped with the car audio hobby about 15 years ago, but I never sold my system and it is all still stored away. The main components are: Pioneer DEH-P88RS Rainbow CS 275.28 Platinum Active DLS A3 Twin Mono Genesis Dual Mono Genesis Stereo 100 At the time this was a fairly serious SQ system, but I've been away from the hobby for so long that I really... Old-school SQ system – Pioneer P88RS, Rainbow Platinum, DLS & Genesis – value today?

Hello , wanted to discuss all possible ways to get clear sound out of modern BMW sound systems. As all we know high level input being used now days when we instal aftermarket amps . Sound quality looses details and speed that way. My goal is to tap into RAM module and get pure sound stream without being modified by H&K algorithm. Also taping to OABR ethernet line is very interesting process . Please share your thoughts, experience if done anything like that.
After more strange behavior from my Audiocontrol D-4.800 amp/ DSP I think I'm officially done. I'm looking at the Helix V-8 Ultimate, but the prospect of spending less on a DSP.3S and a separate 4-channel is appealing. Which option would you go with, and why? If I went with separates, what is a clean, solid 4-channel to pair with the Helix DSP ? I'd like it to be small and do at least 100w per channel, but that still leaves a ton of options and prices. As always, I appreciate the help.
Does anyone know if it's possible to connect both optical (toslink) and digital coax to an Arc Blackbird and use the controller to switch between the two? I know this is possible with a Helix and Conductor, but not sure if the same capability is with the Arc. It's not a huge deal, but connecting my phone directly to my old Helix via SMSL & coax was a noticeable improvement to the factory Volvo head unit and optical. Thanks
Well, after years of planning and searching for "That Perfect One" I finally did it! Years ago I realized that modern cars were just not made to be in my future. I have had two Jeep grand Cherokee SRT8 vehicles (2006 &2013), I have had a G8GT in the first year of it's release. I had a Mercedes E320 and I just knew that the cost of cars were just going up but the quality of the cars and longevity was going down. I had dreams of being "That Old Car Guy" on my block like I used to see as a... Bucket list!! My 1972 Chevrolet Blazer dream truck build
I am starting to upgrade a new S5. I have made great progress mapping out the speaker outputs from the B&O amp along with rough crossover points. Current plan is to feed 8 high level channels into an Audison C8.14 DSP. I am wondering if there are any ways to grab the digital signal before the B&O amp. I believe Audi changed up the digital signal on the B10 so it is different from previous generations. Any feedback is welcome.
Edit (12/26/26) Hey, just wanted to throw this edit in real quick at the beginning of this thread..the end of this story is extremely positive, so despite my complaining and my broken "thought streaming" you'll read here in this thread, just know that the end result has been amazing. I made videos about how to do it "right", so you don't have to make the same mistakes I did. But hopefully you'll find this thread useful nonetheless. I am 100% team Skyatom, if you need a TL DR. Edit... We need to talk about this Goldhorn stuff
Hi everyone - I have Focal K2 100K, with 4-inch mids that play down to ~110hz. They are powered by a Sony 9000ES. Car is a Porsche 911 coupe (997.1). Looking to replace the factory Bose subwoofer box for well-controlled bass down to 42hz (for Jazz double bass). I don't need more power as the system is already more loud than I need. As the 9000ES already has DSP time alignment, I believe my alternatives include: 2-channel DSP amp + 6.5-8" midbass in the door (there are already... midbass or subwoofer to 42hz?
I would like to know if the Eton speakers are worth it? Thank you.
