I'm just wondering where the D&D community is at on this and why they're playing this game in 2026. I've been trying out the DM chair and wondering if I'm delivering what players are looking for. Not going to disclose my leanings so as to not influence the results, but I'm definitely better at one than the other P.S. someone asked this here in 2008 and it was 70/30 in favor of story.

Greetings all former denizens of the "Didn't Comment" thread, and welcome newcomers! This is the Pineapple Express thread, devoted, first and foremost, to the eternal debate over pineapple on pizza- is it the worst thing ever, or the worstest thing ever? More importantly, there are times when we want to post something- on Enworld or elsewhere on the internet, and we realize ... naw. So we come to this thread instead and talk about pineapples, or cocktails, or play Enworld bingo, or whatever... Read more

This post will make generalizations about martials and spellcasters. If it helps make the discussion more concrete, we can consider that we’re talking specifically about the Fighter and the Wizard, which we might say are positioned at opposite ends of the martial-spellcaster spectrum, with other classes somewhere in between (e.g., Cleric is a spellcaster but more martial than the Wizard, whereas Paladin is a martial but more spellcasty than the Fighter, etc). In 2e (and I imagine in 1e as... Read more

Of all the rpgs you own and like, which is the least likely to be played in 2027? Explain why if you have time. Probably Numenera 2e. Half the group doesn’t like the setting and the other half the system. Maybe as solo game but I have many others I want to play before.

It's been a minute. But as Mama Snarf always used to say to me, “Snarf, ya know I can’t miss ya unless ya leave. Now get yer behind out of here until ya get the rent money ya better not darken th' door again unless ya bring mama a carton of Parliaments and enuff crank so I can ride the snake for a week.” Good times! Anyway, what have I been up to? Honestly, I don’t know. I have been assured by my parole officer that it was one of the following: A. Press-ganged into service as a roadie for... Read more
