Hello, my name is Dave, and this is my post-build thread for my 400g display tank. The good news is that this tank went up in 2006. So you won't be waiting months or years to see how this project turns out. In fact you can jump to the finish right now and go to my live webcam and see the tank at 74.62.193.110. Lights turn on at 5pm Pacific time and shut down at 1:30am. For those interested in the longer story, here it goes. I was born with a fish tank in my bedroom. My dad had a tank with... Read more

Back to marine after a very long freshwater hiatus. 25gal IM Lagoon So a little confused. I'm convinced to go with live rock from TBS to get things rolling. But here is my question, If I buy a base rock package how do I get the cool negative space aquascapes with ledges, caves, etc. I get that you build them from dry rock, but do you just build your scape then add the live base rock around it? I guess this is called the hybrid method?
So just wrapped up plumbing my first tank (65g reef ready). I have not glued anything into place yet, I wanted to get some thoughts and opinions on everything from more experienced people if it looks right, if I missed anything etc please let me know what you think. It’s plumbed into a E-shopps RS-75 with a reef octopus vario 4 return I tried to limit the use of 90 elbows opted for 45. It’s all schedule 40.

Three weeks ago, we had major storms in which lost electricity for 36 hours. No stores were open to get battery generator. Lost all fish and some corals. Have a 210 gal tank. two major water changes, Perameters are ok except magnesium. I have a list of corals/fish to add. I know that I add smaller fish at the beginning and numbers of fish at low amounts. My concern is what is the tine between adding more fish? 2 weeks? 4 weeks? or does it depend on water chemistry? Definitely don't want... Read more
