Med cruising grounds

Hi. I have been cruising in Greece for the past 17 years, having done the Ionian; most of the Cyclades and Dedecanese; the Sporades; Evia and Peloponneso. I am looking to explore further and the only places I have not been in Greece is Crete and the most Eastern islands. Having said that, any suggestions on where to go next? Is Crete worth it? Can someone suggest anywhere else in the med (in Greece but also further) that meets these criteria? - remote but safe anchoring - reasonably priced... Read more

Enlarging our rudders

The hem on Jazzcat isn't very responsive under sail, especially in light winds and a bit of Solent Chop. They're fixed, with top and bottom bearings and a full-length skeg and, from memory, the bit in the water is maybe a bit under a foot wide by two feet deep. I'm thinking about making them about 4" wider, using foam sheet, epoxy and glass cloth. Good idea? Bad idea? Thoughts? BTW, the photo isn't my boat, but I haven't got one of that bit of Jazzcat, but it does give an... Read more

Nautitech in trouble.....

Currently owned by Bavaria, who appear to be switching business strategies. Away from cats? Which had (I'd thought) been seen as a growth sector. Candidate for a Grand Large takeover? Whose cat portfolio includes Outremer, Gunboat & ORC (nee Marsaudon). To give them a 'feeder' range? With the smallest Outie now 48 feet.

2001 fuel

Anyone got a diagram of the fuel system on a volvo penta 2001? Need a replacement for this pipe A local Deisel motor factor has recomended a flexy hose with two push in fittings. Will that do? Anyone know where a replacement pipe could be sourced? Its between the fuel filter housing and injector. I'm not sure if it's the feed or return.
