I am curious about capacitor sizes. Aside from the obvious of physically fitting. Why are there different sizes of the same values? How much does that affect things? For context I am looking at 2 x 330/350v filter caps in an amp. The originals have a big diameter and are not as tall. The replacements ordered are smaller diameter but much taller. How much does that size difference affect things?

It was quite odd to see the guitar/audio electronics related repositories on his Github page right after the Linux kernel tree repository (not to mention the libgit2 which powers the whole Github and practically the code servers all over the world): https://github.com/torvalds?tab=repositories That's the digital (Raspberry PI Pico) pedal platform: https://github.com/torvalds/GuitarPedal Quite nice and well documented project (though couldn't find PDF schematics yet) using... As I watch the world burn figuratively and realistically, I can't help but laugh. Laughing gets us through the most difficult of times. While I must admit things are o.k. at the moment I thought I might as well start a joke thread. breaking news: In an unprecedented turn of events, the CEO of Ikea was elected to be president of Sweden. He is currently assembling his cabinet. Click to expand...
Hello, I need a source for the Feed Through Capacitors as used in the Neumann U67. In the U67 schematic that's C12, C13, C14, C15, C16, those are 2000pf or 2200pf. Anyone knows a source for these kind of capacitors? I found a source in ebay for feed through caps from Bulgaria but those are much bigger than the ones used in the U67, but I can't find any other source for these kind of caps. Farnell and Mouser don't seem to stock also this type. Here are 2 photos of the caps I'm referring... Read more
