Who has trail cams up on their property? Let's see your pictures!

I bought four trail cams a few weeks ago, and just got around to putting them up today. I'm not sure how well I placed them though, so they may or may not be very successful. I think I'm going to have to order four more though to get enough coverage of our property. I only saw one obvious deer/game trail, which I did hang a camera on it, but the rest are just kind of hodgepodge all over. I still need to bush hog through the wooded parts, which is where the cameras SHOULD be hung, but I... Who has trail cams up on their property? Let's see your pictures!

New Tractor Forum member

Hello, I’ve lurked about a while and decided to join. I’m a car enthusiast and Autocross my M3 with the BMWCCA in the DC Metro area. I like all kinds of cars, trucks, and garden equipment. Unfortunately I’ve got an old Craftsman garden tractor that serves me well. I would however like something like a S240. It’s a good size and seems to have features/power. Hopefully you can tell me more so that I can upgrade. QuickRick

JD 455

I have a John Deere 455 that was leaking oil for well over a year. I would carry a piece of cardboard to keep the oil from seeping on the ground. It’s not a whole lot of oil (just a few drops a day) but It was annoying as ****. I was going to have someone replace the seal(s) this Winter. However, within the past few weeks I noticed no oil on the cardboard or papers. Anyone have any theories as to why after all these years the oil stopped leaking.

Honda GCV160 fuel leak

recently picked up a Lawn Boy 10796 Insight with the Honda GCV160 engine. Seems to be low hours, starts and runs fine except that fuel leaks from between the carb and air filter box. It only happens when I’m mowing my hilly yard, and if I tilt the mower carb side down I can watch the gas run out. It has a new OEM carb and I made sure the float wasn’t sticking etc. It’s a nice mower, but if this isn’t something I can solve I can’t use it. Luckily I got it for $50 and with the new carb I have... Honda GCV160 fuel leak

What did you do to or on your Craftsman today?

Figured I start this thread here. I know a few of you putter around on your machine like I do or make small modifications here and there to your Craftsman tractor. (Added this generic ad from Sears because everyone will see this first post.) I'll begin; Today I made a bracket/bumper that can hold weights. It's made from the bottom section of an MTD bagger bracket. I drilled holes in the bracket to match existing... What did you do to or on your Craftsman today?

Introduction

Hi I am new here, I have two tractors and a lot of questions. I am retired and live in Washington state. I have the machines needed to perform a lot of my own repairs ( lathes, mills, presses, welders, extra) my knowledge to use them may be questionable. Hope I can learn some stuff from here. I have a Honda 5518 and a JCB 1CXT tractor.

Snapper RER 33in Seat Replacement Lessons Learned

Original seat was breaking apart. Chunks of foam on corners gone, could see the metal bottom plate on one corner. Got a $10 deal on a 19.5in wide (Snapper is 19) but higher back, 12in seat. It mounts with one large bolt in the bottom. My Roper GT18 mounts same way so I'm guessing same seat. Got it to attach to the Snapper seat plate slots, had to remove cushion from new seat, drill holes and instead of welding nuts, I put bolts in so seat bottom now had studs that fit the Snapper slots... Better ignition from Harley-Davidson for opposed twin Kohler

I burned out my ignition coil by leaving the ignition on with the points closed on my PK 1217 with Kohler M17 opposed twin. Google AI recommended a substitute, a Harley Davidson coil from the 70's. I got one at Summit Racing, a Twin Power 210072 HP coil: part # TWP-10-2023. 35kv vs 25kv spark. It was a much bigger spark. Hoping for more reliable starting. Cost $132. And a 5 ohm primary like stock. Walmart has one too, about $30, but I haven't tried it yet. This should also work with... Better ignition from Harley-Davidson for opposed twin Kohler

x540 Wheel Bearings

I cannot find a spec for how much play should be on the axle (what i would call a spindle, but jd calls axle) side to side with the bearings in the wheel and the washer and E clip to retain it. This is the stuff in question. the inside wheel bearing (so other side compared to this one here) sits up against the stop on the axle. How much side to side play should there be? I can very easily see that i have a considerable amount of play on that assembly. to... x540 Wheel Bearings
