Common Industrial Gearbox Problems and How to Prevent Them

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice on common industrial gearbox problems. We recently started experiencing unusual noise, increased vibration, and occasional overheating from one of our gearboxes during normal operation. The gearbox is properly lubricated, but the issue seems to be getting worse over time. I’d like to understand what could be causing these symptoms and whether they might indicate worn gears, bearing failure, misalignment, or another mechanical problem. What... Tempering valve

So this Hotel we service has been getting inconsistent water temp complaints, I took readings and the temp fluctuates at the tempered outlet, anyone rebuild one of these Apollo valves before? I gave a quote for full replacement of the valve as they can’t have any down time, can’t risk turning it into a worse situation.

Sewer Connection

I’m connecting a 6” pvc SDR 23.5 city sewer pipe (spigot end) to 4” sch40 pvc pipe. The 6” SDR 23.5 has an outside diameter of 6.25”. What would you use to connect these two ? Shielded boot and 6x4 solvent weld bushing inserted into the boot ? I’m concerned the city pipe may be at a steep angle so I was thinking a 6” Fernco Hulk boot with a 6x4 bushing and I could ream out the pipe stop in the bushing to let the 4” push up into the 6” but I don’t think that bushing is long enough to allow... Is this legal ( 3 compartment sink )

Is this legal in a commercial restaurant for dishwashing only, not food prep? I cannot figure out how to put a picture in here, but on a three compartment sink with lever waste drains the two outside bowls having a sanitary tee laying on its back with a clean out in the ends going towards the center double sanitary Tee dropping down into a floor drain. The argument is whether a dishwashing sink has to have separate drains going to the floor drain or if it is only for a food prep sink.

Getting camera up the branch of a wye

A client called me saying that a small catch basin on a sunken concrete patio at the rear of his house had water and sand flowing into it from the outlet pipe. The patio is at the rear entrance to his basement, a solid 6" below ground level. There is no inlet pipe, only the outlet, and it is near the top end of his perimeter drainage system, which all flows into a sump about 10ft deep in his front yard (sump has 2x 1hp pumps). Upon attending the job, this was indeed the case. It was the... Getting camera up the branch of a wye
