Hi Everyone, I have a 2019 Cayman 718, I have owned it for 13 months and purchased it from a Porsche Dealership as a Porsche Approved Pre-Owned Vehicle with 2 year warranty. I had an engine control fault come up on the dash, I contacted my local OPC and they informed me a long as the message is orange and the car is driving normally everything would be ok and to book it in for them to have a look at it as it was probably a sensor. I booked it in and they called me to tell me it was a PPF or... Read more
Have a very strange ‘issue’ with my 996 C4S. The oil level on countdown is vastly different to the actual oil level. It seems the car’s drain down time is upwards of 30 minutes from hot run ending to get an accurate reading. A recent example goes as follows: Technician fills oil to halfway (direction from me as I know it’s prone to overfilling) following drain of old oil. Car gets moved from ramp to outside parking. Sits for 1 hour. Shows half full. I then drive the car to get oil nice and... Read more
I have a JMG short shift kit fitted. I don’t recall which one but it wasn’t the shortest throw they had available. Probably the one which had a 25% reduction? I didn’t choose their shortest throw option at the time I was worried at the time that it will be a pain to use daily as it may be more clunky for city driving or the school run etc. So, getting to the point, what’s the best short shift kit available which significantly reduces the throw and not too clunky if used as a daily driver... Good evening I hope you could help I have a judder under braking thought it must be a warped disc. I had all four changed along with new pads and it is still there. It is worse around 50mph and lessens as speed decreases has any of you experienced this if so what was your fix. Thank you all.
There is no doubt my 3.4 engine of my 1998 tiptronic 996 needs a rebuild. Although I was planning on selling it as a project the more I think about, the more I am inclined pay Hartec to do the work and restore it to its former self. However, Hartec also offer an upgrade to 3.7 and it seems like this may be an opportunity too good to miss. Has anyone any experience of this upgrade and if the extra £3k or so is worthwhile? And secondly, although Hartec has just told me the basic 3.4 rebuild... Read more
I am getting a very strange warning come up on the dashboard. The roof on my Spyder is completely off and stowed away properly, the rear boot shut neatly. I am suddenly getting repeated warnings that: ‘Convertible top not fully locked’ at standstill and then ‘Do not drive any further’ coming up in red, when on the move. In short, the car thinks that the roof is on and that it’s not properly secured, when in reality the boot is safely stowed away in the boot. The erroneous red warning is... Read more

Hi all, New member here, so apologies if this has already been discussed elsewhere. I’ve just bought my 981 GT4 and there seems to be an issue with CarPlay. Everything works fine apart from during phone calls, when the microphone doesn’t seem to work. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m wondering if it could be an iPhone issue rather than the CarPlay unit itself. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Cheers!
I'm getting rid of a large quantity of Porsche magazines (+Octane). If anybody would like them, all or odd ones. There in the Sleaford area, PP me. Tony
