When route is being delivered by non-carrier (long term)

Just took over a route that has been vacant for the last 8 months or so. Not only vacant but was being delivered by the postmaster most days. The postmaster was not logging into the scanner as a rural carrier and not sure if they were doing all the required rrecs scans. How will this effect the upcoming evaluation? By the time the MMS ends, I will have been doing the route for 4 weeks. The route will have been run by a rural carrier approx 4 months out of the last year.

NGDV / duck trucks

The new duck trucks are such a POS, the door is like 40 lbs..opening and closing it is gonna throw your rotator cuff at some point. the AC? what a joke! closing the middle door turning in the fan it’s 97 inside, it’s just a full dust ball like 4 inches of dust per day no matter what you do. The left window doesn’t even roll down it’s permanent just a window the only nice thing about it is the room.. other then that it’s trash. I absolutely hate this truck!

Has anyone heard of the possibility that rural carriers pay may change from month to month based on monthly data?

Proper way for second trip to deliver parcels only.

This came up again in my office again. What is the proper way to hit scans when you deliver large packages after you completed delivering all the mail (flats and letters, small packages) on the route? This is all stuff that needs delivered today. This is what I have been doing for the past year and a half. Once I am ready to leave… depart to route I get back from the full route delivering all but the big packages…….. return to delivery unit Do all my end of shift duties that I can then... Read more
