White thin stalks that reel mower doesnt seem to get

All, TifTuf bermuda reel mowed at 1 inch. The past few days, I have noticed these little tiny white stalks that my reel mower doesnt seem to cut, even after a good backlap and adjustment. I cut from a different angle and although it did get more, I expect them to return tomorrow. Any ideas what they might be? Seed heads? How to deal with them. Zone 10b. SoCal

Barenbrug Turf Saver RTF with pics of KBG

Barenbrug Turf Saver RTF is a blend of TTTF varieties, about 40% of which are rhizome-forming varieties. These are mostly the ‘Barfa,’ 'Barmesh,‘ and 'Barrepair’ varieties. There are also mixtures that contain about 50% “Yellow Jacket Coating” (please do not confuse this with Barenbrug Water Saver RTF, which contains 15% *** and sometimes 10% PRG in addition to TTTF). The even more rhizome-forming variety ‘Labarinth’ does not appear to be included in any commercially available seed mixture... Barenbrug Turf Saver RTF with pics of KBG

Overseeding recommedation

I'm considering overseeding my lawn and dethatching prior, for the first time. I live in the suburbs of New York and my understanding is I require a Cool-Season seed. I’m considering using Jonathan Green Black Beauty Ultra or Lesco All Pro Transition with Milorganite fertilizer. Would this work, or could someone please recommend something else? Thank you

(Update: Found!) Tea Seed Meal Fertilizer for Earthworm Control

I'm looking to try some tea seed meal fertilizer for worm control on my lawn. The most talked-about product is Earlybird 3-0-1 but it looks like that's no longer being manufactured. http://oceanorganics.com/golf-courses/early-bird/ I found Castaway 3-0-1 (https://planetturfusa.com/castaway-3-0-1/) which looks very similar and I'm getting ready to call them and see if I can get my hands on some here in CO. Does anyone else have any leads on tea seed meal fertilizer or anything else that... (Update: Found!) Tea Seed Meal Fertilizer for Earthworm Control

Mixing pre-emergent with bifenit

Hello all, I have Bermuda and Zoisya grass in the yard. It is time for the winter pre emergent. I also see lots of white/gray moths when I walk everywhere in the yard. Can i mix preemrgent and bifenit and water it after 24 hours? I have to spray about 1 acre and do not have sprinklers so hard to spray twice. Do you have any other suggestions? Thank you

Getting compaction issues after leveling with sand

put a pretty hefty amount of sand on earlier this year. Since then, I've been getting compaction problems at the barrier between sand and soil below. I didn't really have compaction issues prior to leveling, and I think it has something to do with the two "layers" of soil. Anything suggestions other than aerate and soil softeners? The issue with aerating is I'll probably just be pulling up sand. AI says leveling with sand on top of clay soil can cause this, great

Newbie, Zoysia, Learning, what to do with rinsing and disposal

Georgia, zone 8b, zorro zoysia We had our soil test, 7.4 so too high. We're putting down Feature once we get our ryobi one gallon nozzle switched out with a tee jet fan (the parts and pieces and adapter, oh my) Then treat the awful spotted spurge with celcius, the do a pre-emerge once soil temps are down. In reading the feature label, (and celsius and pre-emerge) what does one do with any unintentioned leftover product and cleaning and risning our sprayer?

Pest control guy using commercial Bifenthrin … a couple of questions

I know a lot of guys on here will have more experience with Bifenthrin and grub poisons in general. Our local pest contol guy was just at our home doing his quarterly spray. Nice guy. Usually asks me a lot of question about if we have had any recent bug issues. Etc Today my only comment was about spiders in the basement so he hosed down the perimeter of the home and the cellar with Bifenthrin. I am assuming is a Commerical grade spray. We have a new baby at the house (our first) who... Pest control guy using commercial Bifenthrin … a couple of questions

Fine Fescue?

I’m seeing multiple patches of this short, thin grass in my KBG lawn. Is this fine fescue? And if so, any tips on how to remove it? I can pull it out but then I end up pulling out a lot of KBG blades and end up with large bare patches.

Questions Regarding Fall Pre-Emergents

Good morning everyone, This is my first year applying fall pre emergents for my Tahoma 31 Bermuda. Me never doing this before leads me to ask a few questions. I am located in Zone 8b, Memphis, TN. 1. What do you all use for your fall pre-emergents? Big box brand products? Or more particular products only sold at places like site one or online? 2. What is the active chemical that I need to make sure is on the bag label? I used lesco’s prodiamine for the spring and summer this year. 3... Questions Regarding Fall Pre-Emergents

PFTanx 2026 Journal

Got my first mow in on Sunday and pleasantly surprised how it’s looking for this early in the season. I was seeing lots of snow mold and it was a slow wake up, but now everything’s looking great. Got some slow release fert down this week as well. The new area around the pool thinned out quite a bit over the winter compared to how it looked in the fall. Lots of weed pressure. I’m having a guy core aerate next week and overseeding with 50# of TCS Resilience... PFTanx 2026 Journal

St Augustine the invader!

I live in Socal and have Winter fescue mix in my front yard. It was patchy in spots and I put in little pieces of St Augustine I bought from home depot, probably 2 years ago. It has overgrown a large part of my front. When I walk on it it feels like it is growing on top of the other grass and hasnt taken root thru it! Help!!! Suggestions on what to do? Do I aerate it and hope it takes root if more soil is exposed. Or pull it out and start over. Could it be removed from the top and then remove... St Augustine the invader!
