Brake Hardware??

I get that this is 2026, but where in hell can you get brake hardware for a tri-five for less than $150.00. We're talking about a few springs for crying out loud. Anyone know a cheaper source for these??? Thanks

Future owner of a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe/ hard top.

Hello, I'm excited to become part of this Classic American car forum. I live in southern California and have owned Corvettes in the past; 1970, 1996, 2009, and 2010. I'm looking to become an owner of a 1956 Chevy Bel Air 2-door sport coupe soon. Really want a resto or partial resto-mod with newer motor and 4-speed auto trans, and aftermarket AC. No "show car" quality, just nice looking and running well. Happy Cruising!

Engine runs after key turned off

Helping a friend with his 56. It developed a condition where it starts and runs, but turning the key off does NOT stop the engine; this is not dieseling or run on- it simply continues to run. My guess is the alternator may have fried a diode. This guess is supported by the fact that he had used the main stud on the alternator to power a timing light (rear mount battery) and at one point, the clamp for the timing light sparked and about melted. My questions: does my diagnosis make sense? Is... Engine runs after key turned off

Lost all Brake Fluid

I parked. my 56 Belaire 235 about 3 months ago in my storage garage as it is way too hot to drive it in the middle of summer. Yesterday I decided to drive it again and found 0 brake pedal and a pool of fluid below my driver's side rear wheel. Appears that my wheel cylinder has given out or some other brake line issue. The repair seems easy enough and nothing I haven't done prior on other vehicles with the exception on how to bleed the brakes by myself. I have a pressure bleeder that will... Lost all Brake Fluid

factory dual quad

just picked up a 57 Bel air bone stock. 283 2barrel/ power glide {minus disc brake upgrade}. factory black with red interior. would love to install a factory dual quad setup. i know it wont improve performance but i would love the "look". i am guessing the heads and cam are different on the hipo engine. my question is will it run good with the lo perf stuff in my engine?? and any problems related to the switchover? thanks charlie[ATTACH... factory dual quad

Let's build a 56 gasser

Thinking about creating a thread for my 56 110 2dr sedan gasser build. Bought the car quite some time ago with the intention all along to make a straight axle gasser type. Been collecting parts for over 10 years. I have posted some questions about this car in other threads here. Mostly in "Interiors". Ready to get going on this so perhaps merits a dedicated thread. Looking at getting feedback from you tri-five experienced folks. I'll try to post about things I'm about to do and see if... Let's build a 56 gasser
