Favourite traverse (for quality, not training)

See title. Personally my DNA is somewhat deficient in crab genes, hence it's a bouldering genre I have generally had little inspiration for. However a combination of the nefarious influence of The T, stringarms, Owen H, etc, combined with disorientating salty air of North Wales Coastal bouldering has given me worrying hints of chitinous exo-skeleton (it's a bit itchy when it grows through) and thus I am dabbling in the odd scuttle and shuffle. I'm curious(-ish) as to what traverse people... Read more

Hevy Duty (Al Stevenson)

I don’t generally subscribe to this kinda stuff…. But Al is one of those special people, if you know you know. He’s committed to the dirtbag lifestyle as much as anyone I know, he’s a wonderfully generous character who’s contributed much to climbing culture and the community. Originally from My neck of the woods he’s been a fixture in Squamish for the last decade or so and was previously a fixture in the creek. If you’ve ever crossed his path he will have left an impression one way or... Read more

BrackenWatch

One of the weird drawbacks of the long drought is that the wilder more boggy areas (the majority of off piste bouldering) have shot up to jungle proportions. Dense forests of bracken dominate the interesting bits of the Welsh wastes. I'm sure some of the more interesting bits of Peak and Northumberland too. Basically this bit of the year is marked for myself by waiting for the bracken to Fck off and die. Is it browning near you yet?

Usyk is the better boxer, pound for pound (that Papa Lomachenko training) but he is a natural Cruiserweight and Joshua is a biiiiggggg Heavyweight. Evander Holyfield might have bridged that gap in the past but he was probably 'roided (see the "Evan Fields" Balco controversy). And, he faced smaller Heavyweights - Tyson for all his ability and viciousness was 5'10"... Read more

Anyone seen any good films lately - Part the second

Can't find the old thread, so time to resurrect this? The film I saw on the way back from NZ last september and recommended on the old ..films.. thread is now on general release here http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0382806/ Although not the type of film I would usually go for, I thought it was excellent.
