Hello, This calculation is miles out - It wasn't like this before the 4.022 upgrade. Compared to BS3

I just started the transition from extract to "all-grain". Now in northeastern Ohio, have lived in the Southwest, Midwest and Germany. Since beer-making isn't about saving money or time, my quest is to make the best lager I can.
Hey everyone! Homebrewer here. If you used Refracto on iOS, you know it was a great refractometer calculator for tracking fermentation — until it disappeared from the App Store. Since the original code was open source (BSD-3, credit to Michael Schmidt), I rebuilt it for the web with the original correction formulas (Bonham, Novotný, Terrill) and added some things I always wanted: Recipes with BJCP style targets (OG/FG/ABV ranges shown as you log readings) Fermentation log... I've just started using the cloud version of BeerSmith 4. I like it a lot. Having the full functionality in the cloud version is a game changer, for me. Excellent upgrade, Brad. The only thing I'm missing is the option to export recipes as BEER-XML files. Is there a workaround or one planned? Or should my brewing system software provider (Speidel) be considering updating their compatibility to BSMX files?
Hi, all. I'm using BeerSmith 4 (web version) to design a 4-gallon extract batch using RO water. The detailed breakdown on the "Session" tab looks good. The steep water volume, plus the extract itself, plus the boil water addition equals a pre-boil volume of 3.71 gallons. After boil, I will add more water to get my volume up to 4 gallons into the fermenter. But on the "water" tab, BeerSmith tells me the "total water needed" is 2 gallons. That is not something I can edit. It is the result of... Read more
I'm not sure if this has been brought up by others and am curious what others think. Does anyone else have any thoughts on automated Tilt integration and logging in BeerSmith? I know we can import data from csv or Google Sheets, but after using software from a couple of competitors that offer it, it really makes me wish that BeerSmith had the same option which could allow us better monitoring capabilities for temperature, gravity and trends. I had brought it up a couple of years ago, but now... Read more
Hi, I've not previously bothered to use the inventory or to keep track of ingredient costs, but now I've decided to do so. I'm starting to edit the inventory and price of individual ingredients in the tables; however, I already have a large collection of recipes with out-of-date prices. I think there used to be an "Update Prices" button in previous versions that would update all prices in a recipe, but I can't find it in BS4. Does it still exist?
In this episode I brew up an extract Blonde Ale, simple, quick and very tasty!
Well, I've joined this august forum to find out just what I need to know, useful tips, and what to avoid.
Where is the lovibond cut-off for milling roasted grains? I know black patent should not be milled, and crystal 120 should be, so somewhere between is the go/no go line. What is the determinant factor? then there's the wheats, ryes etc... Can't find anything in my own brew library, MoreBeer has the milling option on the black patent page, so that was no help. this issue has stumped me for years.
I use both versions to switch back and forth from desktop to mobile throughout my brewing day. It would be helpful to have the same options in a mobile format especially cloud inventory.
Only used Beersmith 4 a couple of times but all my mash in profiles show 12.50 qts per pound not 1.25 qts per pound. I would assume I did this but how do I correct this for all Mash Profiles at once?
