I did a valve cover gasket change, but I bought gaskets that didn't fit. I had to continue the job the next morning because every store was closed. When I went to go and finish the job the next morning, as I was putting the valve cover on, I heard clicking on the right side of the engine bay. Keep in mind, there are ground bolts on the valve cover, so naturally, I took them off. However, I never unplugged the 12V battery the night before. After hearing this noise, I unplugged the 12V... I’m based in Europe and looking to buy my first car. I’ve yet to set foot in one, but I’m pretty sold on the idea of a CT 200H. My question is, how reliable would the older models realistically be if I wanted to buy it today and have it run for years more? I’m aware of head gasket and burning oil issues, and I also know that their battery might be coming up on the end of their lifespan in some cases due to age. I also understand that post-facelift models from 2014+ are a safer choice... Are older CTS worth buying in late 2026?
Hi all — my son's 2015 CT200h has an intermittent problem I'm hoping someone here has seen before. Symptoms After sitting parked ~1–3 hours, the car won't go READY and shows a Park/shift-system malfunction telling the driver to apply the parking brake. The car stays locked in Park. Disconnecting the 12V battery negative for a few minutes restores operation (occasionally needs a second brake-and-POWER attempt). 12V battery repeatedly tests good: ~12.6–12.9 V resting... 2015 CT200h intermittent no-READY + Park malfunction — C2300, C2304, C2305, C2306
Hello, I have a Lexus ct200h and wondering when would be ideal to replace oil [ 3k, 5k, 10k ]?
Gas is high, CT is small. Looks better than Prius and last longer than a tesla. Win.
I'm looking for a bumper in color 214, facelift 1
Just hit 200k on it last week, bought it with 196k on it and have already driven to Nevada and Arizona. Fun car to drive and I've already learned a lot in the month I've had it (changed 12v battery, air filters, oil, coolant including inverter, TPMS sensors, and cleaned the hybrid battery fan. Also got Techstream with OBDII cable in addition to iOS apps with other OBDII connectors to check other things and flash. Kinda thinking to freshen up the suspension with f-sport pieces but wondering... Picked up 2012 CT200h for second car & a 2017 F Sport for a third
This started this morning headed to work about 5 miles in on my 15 mile drive. Got home and coded P0A80 and P0171
Subject: 2012 Lexus CT200h Premium Navi Mileage: 264140 mi Symptoms: Engine coolant temperature light displays. Engine overheating if prolonged 70+ mph driving or faster if under higher load. Not losing coolant. Water pump / thermostat - replaced with Aisin aftermarket unit; original pump impeller had high resistance to turning by hand. Thermostat still functioned but was replaced anyways as PM with a Dorman unit Problem persisted. Cooling system bled by loosening EHR temp sensor... Engine overheating if prolonged 70+ mph or under high load
Hi,new to the CT200h as before I was a VW Jetta TDI owner and was looking for something that was able to get close to the MPG as my TDI. So far I’m satisfied with the CT
2012 CT, all original minus bumpers. The ABS will activate and occasionally the traction light will flash while turning. If I am only turning slowly in a parking lot or driveway this never occurs. The activation only happens while turning onto a street or into a driveway or making a U-turn. It seems the sharper the turn the longer the ABS stays active. I've inspected both the fronts and a rear sensors and wiring and saw no indication of damage. The cars speedo is off by about 5 mph @ 65 as... ABS activating while turning
