Hi everyone, I've reached the part of trying to get my bike to run where I must mess with the carbs. I got them taken out and separated easy enough but upon beginning to clean them out my lack of experience with motorcycles has shown itself. Is one (or both) of my carbs missing jets? There are pieces missing all over the bike so I wouldn't be surprised if they were, but I don't have the knowledge--even after looking at the shop manual--to tell if there's pieces missing or if the carbs are... Are my carbs missing parts?

I found an old post by Reg in Bristol rebuild a pulser coil very interesting. I see the The voltage on his oscilloscope indicated that the output is in the vicinity of 4 -5 V Peak to peak. Most of us don't have access to such test equipment. Motofaction have a post on testing the pulsers using an ohm meter. What would the output voltage be using a standard AC volt meter. , with the pulsers disconnected and cranking the engine? Has anyone done this, as I would like... CX series TI Ignition pulsars

I have the remains of two GL 500's that I parted out to us on a replica 3 wheel Morgan. Project now using a Moto Guzzi doner. Both engines and a pair of NEW Murrays Carbs are listed on Ebay but many parts are available. Is there anyone in or near Florida who would be interested in a job lot offer and local pickup? I have parts for every year of Gl500s and CX500s, and I used to be known as Spidercustoms on this forum over a decade ago. I spent almost a decade working almost exclusively on the CX and Gl550s. I have owned about 50 CX500s and at least 20 Gl500s and have saved all of the good working parts from every bike that we didn't restore. 1981 GL500 Interstate ~25k miles, will check and update post with exact figure I have owned since 2017 Runs, drives, turns, stops - was my only bike before I bought a Guzzi 18 months ago. Hi guys. New to CX bikes. I've just bought a CX which has a couple of issues although it is very rideable. The complete picture is it's an 81, it's had an engine rebuild by previous owner and is still being run in. It does however have an occasional missfire but only under specific conditions. At idle, every 10 secs or so, 1 cylinder missfires, then like a pop out the exhaust (unburnt fuel?). It also does it when riding with low revs and little throttle. I can feel power drop momentarily... Occasional missfire

Hi all, I have an American cx650 custom and am thinking of replacing as much of the old bolts with stainless steel ones. Can anyone recommend a good make to buy a full set. Regards

Hi everyone, The fuel delivery on my petcock has strong flow when its switched to reserve using a vacuum, but comparatively weak flow when it's switched to "ON". I've cleaned the diaphragm, pickup tube filter etc. with no results. I'm not sure what else could be causing the issue other than a blockage within the tap lever housing. Mine is riveted and I don't currently have the tools or know how to open it without causing too much damage. I was wondering if someone might have a suggestion... GL500 Petcock Issue

I stripped it completely for restoration and had the frame sandblasted and powder coated black. It ran before I dismantled it in 2017, but hasn’t run since. I attempted to build a new wiring loom, but my colour blindness got the better of me and the project stalled. There is no complete wiring loom; the unfinished wiring work can be seen in the photos. I am chasing the cowl that goes between the back seat and the tail-light. Brown would be extra nice, but any colour will do. Please include postage to Australia in your price. Alternatively, if anyone has an STL file to 3D print one, that would also be a possiblity.

I’m looking for a carburetor bowl for my 1980 CX500 C. I need the left side (the one with the accelerator pump) I somehow managed to break off the over flow tube nipple.
