Off topic, nothing to do with packages. I help run a chat server for a Linux and self-hosting group, about 500 members, mostly people who came through a few long time members who keep inviting colleagues and classmates. We wanted to give those people a helper role, but the default invite counts were a mess, full of accounts that joined for five minutes and left. We tried another bot, which only keeps invites from people who stay and ignores fresh throwaway accounts, and it matched what we saw day to day. Do other small communities here bother with this, or just pick helpers by feel?
Hi all. I ran Slackware on and off since the early 2000s and switched my home server and an old ThinkPad to Salix this year because I wanted the same simplicity with less babysitting. Happy so far. I also help run a small tech chat group, so I end up recommending lightweight distros there a lot.
Over 10 years with Salix! Rock solid and fast even on older hardware. Thank you Salix team.

Thanks for the update and for keeping newer kernels available for Salix 15.0. Good to know that 6.18 is working well with Xfce 4.20 too. Also thanks rodan for the VirtualBox tip — that’s exactly the kind of compatibility issue that can save someone a lot of troubleshooting. I’ll give 6.18 a try on my Salix installation and report back if I run into anything unusual.
