Front panel replacement.

Hi everyone I'm new to caravanning and in need of some advice. I bought my Lunar Venus 2016 last year. We used it a couple of times then I put a winter cover on it and I stored it for the winter. When I took the cover off, I noticed a bad crack running from the top satellite window and it goes down to the main front window. I've had two quotations, and they have said the damage could have been caused by movement or impact whilst towing. They also said it could be a manufacturing fault. My insurance company is refusing to pay for the damage saying it is a manufacturing fault. The cheapest quotation I've had is £4000. So the only option I've got is to replace the panel myself. I can't find any YouTube videos on replacing the front panel. The things that I am most worried about are taking the awning rails off and putting them back on and the joint on the on the roof. Does the awning rail need to be completely taken off or can it just be removed from the bottom, then just above the new... Read more

ALKO ATC brakes issue

A couple of times recently I have been in a slow moving queue of traffic and after sitting stationary for a few moments, I have gone to move off and the caravan brakes have locked up - embarrassing in a long line of traffic! Easily solved, I just jump out of the car, pull up the caravan handbrake and release it, and all is well. I'm assuming this is something to do with the ATC. Does anyone know what is going on here? To be fair, its not an everyday occurrence, I'm just concerned that one day the brakes will stay on. 2013 Lunar Ultima 534 towed by SEAT Ateca 4wd. Thanks

Anyone had dealings with Spinney Cheshire

We have been off the forum for a while, but just wanted to know if anybody has had dealings with Spinney, looking to P/Ex VIP for a new coachman. Is it true new caravans do not come with a Battery, if so i will move my existing battery over if we proceed.

External lock mechanism

Does anyone know where I can buy a new lock mechanism…. It’s for the water tank for the toilet flush on our Bailey Unicorn Valencia 2017. When I lock it it’s still a bit loose and when towing it comes open even it’s locked. Thetford Aspire cooker thermocouple

Our 2013 Lunar Ultima has this cooker fitted, which according to its serial number is about 3 years older than the van! The grille thermocouple has given up the ghost but the replacement part has been discontinued and I can't find stock in any of the dealers I have approached; part no. SSPA0624. However there are other grille thermocouples listed for later serial numbers of the same model, which do appear to be available, and look identical, but I have no idea whether they will be suitable and I can't find any guidance anywhere. Does anyone have any experience that might help? Thanks in advance.

Thankyou J May

Opinions on hab check and vehicle service

I have a 3 year old Swift Carrera 184 it’s a Ducato van conversion done 9k from new, now due first mot, annual service which I will have to pay for as got 2 years free and hab check. Hab check, I haven’t used the gas in 2 years and don’t even have a gas bottle in the van, the only damp issue would be the window seals as it’s a metal body so why should I need a hab check, it just seems like a waste of money but it’s needed for the warranty. Vehicle service. The dash service info is saying I’ve got 15k miles before I need an oil change and it’s only done 3k miles since last service, so again it’s seems a waste of money to get a service. I know I will have to have the jobs done but it just seems overkill to me!

Hello. I’ve just joined for some advice

Hi. We have just purchased a brand new 2026 Bailey Unicorn Deluxe Vigo. We collected it a month ago ready for our main holiday to France. We were very happy with it until we got back! My husband was giving it a quick wash on our return and found 4 screws poking through the roof. It appears screws that were too long were used to fasten the bathroom divider and have gone straight through. We contacted the retailer as they have said it will go through warranty for repair. Tbh I don’t feel that’s good enough as the integrity of the van has been compromised and it could have already got water ingress as we were lucky enough to experience 2 very heavy storms while on holiday. Will a repair make a month old caravan as good as new?? I would appreciate your thoughts.
