Giant Killer Doorway DAC?

so does one actually exist? A true giant killer DAC at a Doorway price? So what price? I’m guess a maximum of $300 if we are to fit it into our $1000 system cost. Thoughts?

Johnny Cash -One piece at a time- Stephens Tru-Sonic project

After years of collecting parts for this project, I've finally received my last major component today! Some of you know about this project and a few of the parts have come from members of this and other forums. I'm notoriously slow in completing projects so I'm hoping that starting a thread will give me the added push to keep things moving along. Thanks for letting me share my excitement with you! Time to unpack and organize, more pictures and details soon.

Newly Acquired Stephens Trusonics Series 100s! Sort of?

Hi everyone! I'm a new entrant to the forum. A lovely redditor sent me to HiFi Haven and specifically to the All Things Stephens Trusonics thread from a post I made on reddit of my new speaker setup. A bit of context and backstory, last week I went to meet a Facebook Marketplace seller to buy some Klipsch CF-1s for my Living Room. While I was there I told him how I had been trying to find a mid-century modern styled speakers for the vinyl record room I have been slowly building out. I... Read more

Paul Klipsch, KHorns and JBL lenses.

In this episode we visit Chicago repair tech Harley Rumentzas and listen to his dead stock KHorns. We discuss Paul Klipsch and his products and I show off some JBL potato masher lenses.

EL-34 Distributed Load Push Pull Amp

Here is a slight variation of the Eico HF-87. I had Matt at Musical Power Supplies wind me some 40W PP OPT's with 7.6k primaries and 40% UL taps. There were initially for a Williamson UL build, but I really like the great performance and simplicity of this "Mullard" LTP design. The main differences in this design are slightly less cathode current per tube (60ma/24.5W vs 75mA/32.5W) so tubes are not run as "hot" and the higher anode to anode primary impedance which falls into a fairly broad... Andrew Trezek - Very possibly another vintage audio repair scammer FYI

Hey gang, This guy lived in MN and is now somewhere in WI. I am hearing multiple accounts of him taking gear in for repair and it disappearing from folks on facebook. Interestingly I actually met that Noah character who pulled the same crap up here when he lived near by me too. If somehow this all gets resolved I'll remove this post but BUYER BEWARE. There are plenty of reputable audio repair folks around my area. Hopefully this will prevent someone from getting conned. Evan

Sharp RT-2500H - Free!!

Hi All, Not sure if this is the right thread, if not could this be moved to the correct one. I have inherited a fairly old and used (but working) Sharp RT-2500H cassette tape deck, however i have no use for it (I'm vinyl only) and i just cant bear to just throw it away as i can see a few people on here (and online) love them and i know it would be a nice addition to someone. I can take some photos of it if need be but i am just trying to give it to someone as a project to clean up/use for... Read more
