Yeah the C11 was put back a little, although it still states September, it will be the end of. I’d expect it to be around the 26th.My preorder is suggesting 30th by the time they get stock to ship. All of the royal locos look quite smart with a slight glossy finish and silver couplers. The C11 has a sheen too. The royal set is a great addition with lots of detail parts for the roof. Also looks nice with some incandescent lighting too.

So then. Payday was yesterday. I paid my rent this morning. Thought that I deserved an early treat... To satiate my want of a "Royal Engine", in lieu of the fact that C11 190 is still some time off, I went straight back to Nikkyosha and asked for the EF81 81 that they had kindly set aside for me (even had my name on it). ☺️ I like that rose pink colour. And I've got to say, it looks like it has a lacquer finish to it making it one of my favourite electric locos in my collection thus far. I'm a happy customer. I learned that the Imperial Train garments (28-236) are sold separately, and depending on how much work it takes to install them I'll eventually buy them but forego them for now.

Thanks. I suspected it had something to do with heating. I think I'm going to make a set of exterior detailing parts for houses, and I'll add these to the list.

These North American freight trains are quite brutal to begin with; it's not like you can couple up 10 Oedo Line cars onto a freight train and call it a day. Nonetheless I'm quite fond of seeing the SkyTrain system being mentioned on here.

The funniest thing is in one of the promos, the train is depicted running on Morant's Curve, which has not seen a VIA train in decades.

As a fellow British Columbian, it's always a pleasure to see the GF6C on display. I'm wondering if the museum has thought about preserving a Mark 1 SkyTrain car while in their retirement window

Slow progress is slow ... As always, due to things happening (including working stupid amounts of over time to get a release out the door), I haven't really had to the time to sit down and get decoders ordered, let alone installed. I've also not done much running of trains since the last update either. I did clean up the workbench a little bit to make room for the urban / local line boards. I have now removed those from the 2nd and 3rd sections. This is the board for the 2nd section. A large part of this is already wired up, but there were still some bits missing. Also, not all track had been installed yet, missing mainly the approaches to the diesel / steam service terminals. I ordered everything to finish that up quite a while ago, so I'll try to work on getting that done in the coming days / weeks. I'll also work towards more permanently install all the wires, including somehow adding a permanent power connection to the reverse loop module that's on the storage yard. The power for this will likely be taken from the main power bus on the 2nd section, and then go down the yard towards the back of the section. To still make everything easily removable, I'll add some sort of connector there. For the 3rd section, I've not done any wiring yet at all. I just installed the track to get an idea of whether things would work or not. There are some minor issues that need to be fixed, but generally it looked fine. I'll start wiring that, and then see what I need to order for the perman

There's not much action in my small mountain village layout, but the yard is still serviced by a passing freight a few times a week and the passenger station still sees a handful of trains every day. Today saw a DE10 shunt the yard. Midway through its work, the engineer made way for an in-bound local service operated with a Kiha 32. "Fouling the main" while switching the yard. The small yard is just the right size for the 3-2-2 variation of the classic Inglenook shunting puzzle. Making way for an incoming passenger train. A midday passenger train headed for the town's station. The station, as much of the rest of town, remains a work in progress. DE10 heading out with the day's railcars. All in all a fun session running some of my favourites.
