This is what I consider my new KLR will need added I will install. I have these parts and components already. At the risk of being called a smart A__, well maybe so... What am I missing….. Thermo bob Temp gauge and tach Krator steel foot pegs and springs Voltage readout (2) USB ports w/one extra hidden/ sealed for permanent USB for navigation Acerbis hand guards Acerbis fork lower covers Bark busters tear drop bar end weights Tank side and top protector panels Relay for IGN /on power... Getting new 2026 KLR S ( no ABS) possibly in next (2) weeks. What am I missing….

Just out of curiosity, when ( yr models) did the KLR 650s start being made in Thailand. Any changes in quality or build.

Everything works perfectly except starting the bike while in gear. I need help troubleshooting how to adjust my clutch safety switch. I know it has the three contacts inside. Obviously, there is an adjustment that needs to be made to get those contacts to line up properly. Any ideas? Gen 3

Ok, it's not very exciting and it was a bit of a pain but I think I have the bars just where I want them. When I bought the bike in February the very first thing I did was start fiddling with the bars. OEM bars were too wide. Atv high bars mean I need an adapter . 7/8 to 1 1/8 adapters pushed the bars back too far. Rox risers put them too high. I ended up tilting the risers forward and the bars back to get the grips where I want them. I like a clean cockpit so this was also way too... New bar riser day!

I’ve been riding a long time. I’ve had a lot of bikes. I know I can get by with a proper break in without a tach. It’s just easier to see what is going on With one. I’m not going over 50 mph top speed for now. Short shifting, vary RPM, etc. I have never had an oil burner using the proper break in method. I’m hoping I can coil the pick up wire around the plug wire without pulling the tank. So- if I might ask those with a tachometer, what is rpm at 50,60,70 mph in 5 th gear. ( BTW where’s 6... Need to get my tach hooked up, whole bike break in in progress

I wasn't taking anyone's wife to a fancy sushi dinner, so I had time to install the overpriced JNS lowered rear brake lever. The improved lever position with the lowered pegs and the master cylinder threaded rod adjustment to the top is so good it's almost worth $125.

Started riding as a kid, kept with it over the years. Found this 2008 a couple of years ago with less than 1800 miles on the odometer. It took a while to get it running (ethanol gas will do that), but it's running beautifully these days. I enjoy the long way home.

Hey Forum Good Morning! Yes, the time has come for my 1st time Valve Check on my 2008 KLR! Ok questions 1. What brand of feeler gauges should I get? 2. Should I buy the Shim kit? 3. What is the most important step of this whole process? 4. What helpful online video can help me the most, by keeping it all in layman's terms for the 1st time doing the valve check? 5. I just bought the Clymer Manual. 6. Thanks, I really want this process to go as smooth as possible, I would greatly appreciate... 1st Time Valve Check!

Hi all i have a gen 2 2008 KLR 650 modified into a bobber.after getting aftermarket lights installed sparky said my temp sender on top of cylinder needed replacing to get thermo fan to come on correctly.I couldnt get old sender out ,so off to shops to get ratchet spanners,but at same time replaced thermostat with new one.went for ride 20mins in doing 110kmph bike oheated fluid spewing from radiator.Side of road waited to cool a bit an topped up fluid,got another 10 km an oheat fluid flow... 20008 klr650 oheated after replace new thermostat ??
