So I’m cycling a 20 gallon (long) tank and I have been testing regularly and my level have yet to go down. I have white/black sand and substrate and idk what is causing the spikes in my tank?

Before starting this journal, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jess at Waterbox Aquariums. Not only are your Aquariums wonderful, affordable and easy to customize, but the service you have provided with all my emails, questions and final purchase have been stellar. I cannot thank you enough. Now onto the build.. This will be my first truly custom, overflow and sump specific Aquarium I have owned. While the concept is still a bit daunting, I am sure over... Buying a new tank and stand and currently debating between the UNS 120P, 120M, and 120U. Looking for some opinions from people who have experience with these tanks. I currently have a Chirios WRGB2 Pro 120, so I'll have no issue growing a carpet with any of these tanks. The 120U is really tempting because of the extra water volume and 24" front-to-back depth, which gives you a ton of room to work with when scaping. My biggest hesitation is the 24" height. I can see that becoming a pain over... UNS 120P vs 120M vs 120U

THIS IS NOT THE TANK JOURNAL YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. MOVE ALONG. As I described in my introductory thread , I have a plan for three planted tanks, but this is not one of them. This is a 10 gal that I set up because I had an emergency and needed a tank stat. I had been seriously oversold in shrimp by my LFS, they were all pregnant and I was about to be overrun. Worse, I had... Tank 0 of 3: Side Tank / Quarantine
It's been a while since I have had a tank set up and going since I broke down my Fluval Spec V. I really loved working on the scape in that tank because of the challenge of picking plants and animals that fit the scale. Well, I purchased a Clear Mini 6 a few years ago and I have been collecting hardscape for a while so I decided to scale it this week. I will be planting and filling it in the next few weeks and looking forward to how it fills. I have plans for the plant selection and... New Waterbox Clear Mini 6
Long story short, I'm upgrading a 5 gallon cherry shrimp tank into a 55 gallon tank. After the shrimp get established in their new home, I am adding some fish alongside them. I'd love to have a school of gold barbs (mainly because I like their appearance and the fact that they don't need a heater). However, I'm not sure if they are too big to safely keep with shrimp. Some people say they are voracious eaters and a bit aggressive, while others say they are peaceful for barbs. So, here are my... Has Anyone Tried Gold Barbs With Cherry Shrimp?

Hello folks! I have been wanting to make a newt tank for a long time now. I grew up catching newts in a pond on my parents property so there is a lot of nostalgia in getting them now as an adult and 'doing it right' as it were. In order to get a new tank though an old tank has to go. The Wife simply will not tolerate MORE tanks in the house ;P Sadly the tank that's getting the axe is my Walstad Fish Bowl. Its been up and running for a year and a half now but its also spent the last 7 or so... High Tech Newt Tank
Hello everyone! I have a 20L planted tank with driftwood, housing Red Cherry shrimp and six Chili Rasboras. The filter I have is not very strong—it's an external hang-on-back (HOB) filter with very little surface agitation. Because of this, I put an airstone in the tank connected to an air pump. However, could this oxygen supply/bubbles be bothering my Chili Rasboras? The Red Cherry shrimp seem to have no problem with it. Do Chili Rasboras prefer very calm water, or is the surface agitation... Do Chili Rasboras mind surface agitation from an airstone in a 20L tank?
Sensitive content, not recommended for those under 18 Show Content I'm working on setting up my first aquascape and would love to get some feedback on my current hardscape placement before I glue anything into place. Despite being a helpful general guideline, I'm not too concerned about strictly following the "official" aquascaping layout rules. I really just want a tank that I can be proud of and looks good to an average person. This was much more difficult than I was expecting. It took me probably about 5 trips to my... So about six months ago my middle daughter sent me this picture from her after school job at PetSmart. I had been planning on doing a six-foot 125-gallon tank for a while but this got things rolling, $300 off…. couldn’t pass it up. Dropped it into the garage that day and advised my wife I had a new project. After some negotiating, she said fine but if I had any remodeling plans, they had to be done prior to the... 125 gallon tank build
