1978 LEB 1200cc with 17.5k (Genuine milage) Hesitating / Bogging down just as you apply throttle. Once past this it sounds great and goes well. Any ideas? Valve clearances checked Timing checked static and with Gun New Carb (Bbt-made no difference to the standard Solex 30 Pict 3) New Plugs, Leads, Rotor Arm, Points, Cap and Coil. All plugs are the same colour. Running out of ideas now. Anyone know what the standard jetting should be and how to dial out this hesitation / Bogging? Video... Evening everyone just after some advice before pulling the trigger! Whilst our new purchase, 1971 1600 Bay, is under going some minor surgery and the engine is out we are taking this opportunity to reinstate the heat exchangers and replace the monza 4 tip exhaust. What would be the general census on the Empi Single Quiet Pack or the SSP Quiet Pack alongside the Heritage heat exchangers? If funds were unlimited the Vintage Speed Classic Sport would probably be in the mix! But we still have... Heat exchangers and Exhaust
Before I put body on pan want to sort brakes, all new hydraulics, pipework, calipers and rear shoes/cylinders. But also looking at larger Porche wheel cylinders due to smaller tyres at front and locking up. But pads are old and will check tomorrow if they are 1 or 2 hole but can you get ebc type of pads. Discs are standard so are fine, also after renovation is there a way to make sure MC is clean internally and dust free or is it a case of rinsing fluid through it and the dual bottle as... Uprated front and rear
Started getting a rough grinding sound from the window when lowering it. Everything still works, but the noise has definitely gotten worse lately.

Got a old beetle of facebook marketplace to have a fun little project car and collector item. I am new to the bug community and am excited to learn more about these classic cars.
My beetle has been leaking oil from near the crankshaft pulley and increases the amount of oil spilled at higher speeds. I heard from the guy that owned the car before that the sand seals need to be replaced but I've seen conflicting answers on how to do that. If it is the sand seals how would I go about fixing it and if not what else could it be. Thanks.
Looking for help, answers, parts run downs, how to, guidance and maybe some fellowship! I'm in the process of doing a restoration on this fun ride. Trying to track down a show bar and other accessories to be able to mount some sort of roof on her.
I have a 1600 dual port, stock. not running heater tubes as exhaust dones not have the proper "fittings".... I notice now that I finally got her running that the instake manifold just below the carb "frosts"....... I only use it is summer as a dune buggy. Should I be concerned that the fuel will not atomize correctly?? I was thinking maybe I can find a small DC heater tape to apply to this area to help. Have others "cured" this issue...or find its not a problem in the long run. As... Not Running Heat Risers??? Frosty intake???
ok guys... want to run something buy you I have come to notice with the help of a new freind that is helping me with my 1600 dp motor getting it running and timed right. After verifying manually that at TDC my rotor is NOT pointing to the 4oclock position. It points more to say 2oclock. NOt sure WHY but it is so...with that said I just have to static time it to that area since that is where #1 for sure is...... or should I be pointing no matter what to 4 oclock and something is... At TDC rotor not point where I thought it should be
I picked up a sand rail and it has a ball joint front end...with coil overs on the front set to lowest setting. someone familiar with sandrails and dune buggies suggested to me to take off the coil overs and actual run NOTHIng.....no shocks or anything...he said its normal in the buggy community to run no shocks as the front is so so light....... and no travel....which is how mine is.....wonder what other buggy owners are doing or have done in the front. This is for 100% street... Sand Rail front suspension shocks
