Gearbox selector bushes!!

Hello all, I know I am in trouble already!! So I have a 2.5 TDI ACV Caravelle with (climatronic) climate control, 2001. On a trip to Bedford over the weekend from Oxford, at a t-junction 1 mile from my destination I lost 1st and 2nd gear. I know what had happened straight away, as my son borrowed my van for a while, 5 years ago and he lost the same gears, but he sorted that out at a local garage. From that episode with the feed back from the mechanic was...it was a nightmare! Hence I know... Gearbox selector bushes!!

T5 passenger door dead lock

Recently replaced my passenger door catch on my t5 and ever since, after the door locks while driving, if you try to pull the handle twice to unlock and open the door it deadlocks for some time. If you unlock the door from the inside with the fob the door will open? Hoping someone else has had this issue

More dubious (AI?) "new member introduction" posts...?

Hi, May just be me, but there seems to be a lot more posts from "new members" with very similar introduction lines like "New member here and I drive a...", or "Dropping in from..." or "Hey/Hello/Greetings, XXXX and my whatever T4/T5...". They usually don't have any follow-up from the original poster. Confusingly, there are some posts where there is follow-up and even some pics. Seems to me this has started/become worse since we started getting the cross-forum posts on here. I don't want... More dubious (AI?) "new member introduction" posts...?

Wobble in pulley

I noticed a recurring sideways movement in this pulley at idle - I'm guessing it should have zero sideways movement? Was having a look because I'm trying to trace a rattle. 1.9td abl at 165k miles

Anyone else dream about their bus?

Missus thinks I’m going a bit crazy as recently I’ve had several vivid dreams about our/my bus. Ones that stick in my mind are someone trying to steal it by towing it away and me chasing it naked down the street. This morning I had one where the aftermarket electric window switch (Italian apparently 🤷🏻) that I bought recently against my better judgement stopped working. (It just doesn’t feel right like the other OE ones do) HELP!

What is peak transporter

On the long run back from france i was pondering and i thought id get oppinions...i was camped next to a new cali (multivan car, not for me) and now the transporters a transit, we are past the peak transporter...but what was it?? I've only had a 5.1 but its pretty bloody good as far as vans go. I always thought the the t6 was a little carlike for my taste..so I thought I'd ask you lovely folk, what do you think was the pinnacle of the transporter bloodline? Also what do you prefer of the... VR6 rattle

I have a 2001 VR6 24v Eurovan Camper with 114k miles. It makes a rattle shortly after startup for about a minute—see video. Does this sound like timing chain rattle? (Also I checked codes on an Ancel 700 and got these results for the following blocks: 208: -3; 209: -7; 90: 22; 91: zero) Thanks!

T5 gearbox win

I bought a T5 and the second gear syncro had gone. £1000+ for a replacement used! I have managed to fit a later MTQ? gearbox with the driveshafts and the Dark side 6 speed conversion engine mount. One of the bell housing boots first align but it has done a good few miles and everything seems fine. The later box seems far better and more available.

Help needed – T4 instrument cluster mileage correction (South West)

Hi everyone, I’ve recently upgraded/replaced the instrument cluster in my T4 1998 but obviously the mileage showing on the new clocks doesn’t match the van’s actual mileage. The genuine mileage is documented through the MOT history, and I’d like to have the replacement cluster adjusted so that it matches the correct mileage and lines up with the MOT records. Does anyone know of a specialist in the South West who could do this, preferably someone who has experience with older VW T4s... Help needed – T4 instrument cluster mileage correction (South West)
