To me, the French press makes a wonderful cup of coffee, but cleaning it after use is difficult, especially since I don’t want grounds pouring into my drains. One time somebody used it and simply left it to dry out, which was difficult to say the least. When I started this in 2011, my guests were basically in my guest bedroom and we shared a world. The guests at that time were so happy to live in a home like environment that I guess they accepted anything that was left out for them as working. As time changed, and I realized that a hotel like environment served the guests that I was getting, I moved more and more away from the home like atmosphere, culminating in a kitchen that has a stove that’s turned off and to set up, that is more ‘grab and go’. Not showing in the picture is an electric kettle.

We’re actually the same as you, @Rolf - we have a pour over, a French press, a Mr. Coffee with an insulated steel carafe, and a true espresso maker. No Keurig - the local stores don’t sell the pods. The Mr. Coffee gets used all the time, and the espresso maker gets used some times. The others - I’m the only one that uses the pour over, and I don’t think anyone uses the French press.

I’m in an oversaturated market and I periodically check, putting in specific dates and group sizes in the search. I sometimes have to filter by price and neighborhood to show up. I use a private browser window.

Absolutely has a paywall. I’m not interested in a 7 day trial where they want my card information up front. Thanks, but no thanks.

Side note: we put Tim Horton cups out along with the usual variety so that our Canadian friends see that we love and support them and that we are not aligned with the Maga-otts…

I find preference to vary from guest to guest. Personally I hate Keurig coffees. A drip maker, think Mr. Coffee, is easy for most people to use. A pour over is great coffee, but the user is limited to how many hot cups can be made at one time. Keeping it hot is a challenge. I personally don’t like a French Press. We went with a dual machine that has a drip maker on one side and a K-cup maker on the other. Guests use both sides. I leave them enough coffee to make a couple of full pots and 10 K-cups per stay.

I do look, and am often baffled by where we appear after taking into account search parameters. The most helpful advice I received came from Google’s AI: move pictures around, change the name/description from time to time, and raise prices before offering a discount. The discount will get you more traffic. I’m beginning to think many hosts in my area have done the last one. The market is pretty saturated here and almost everyone has a discounted price.

I’ve heard of services that improve where you show up and search and getting you onto the first page for their location. They are scams It looks like jansen55 will next volunteer that they know of a great one that works all the time or that they’ve used. Please stop.

How would it help?

Our Airbnb consists of three rooms in the house and is populated mainly by folks in for work, conferences, etc. They’re really not ready for something elaborate for coffee and a Dunkin’ Donuts is down the street, so we have a Keurig with a large selection of K-cups. We had a drip machine at one time, a French press, and a pour over, and they were used very very infrequently. The Keurig is used daily.

A pour-over. No mechanical parts. No electricity. Inexpensive - get a few so guests can make several cups of coffee at the same time. Throw it in the dishwasher or just rinse it to clean it.

I’m looking for the best coffee maker for everyday use and would love recommendations based on coffee quality, ease of use, durability, and cleaning. thanks
