Are the FT forum pages loading slowly for anyone else? They've been so slow the last week for me that I'm expecting the AOL dial-up sounds!

I did not see a group/section devoted specifically to the EZ planes, so I thought I’d post this here, since I design my own planes… Been having fun with the EZ 2 channel setup on my small (14-17 inch wingspan, max AUW 55g) planes. Hello crew, I just downloaded the plans for the FT Flerken (914 mm) from the FTCA website. I typically scratch build all my airplanes but this time I wanna laser cut the plans so that I have smooth wooden cutouts. I have a local laser cutter. But it seems that the PDF files are rather like image files (i.e. cannot be converted to a suitable file for laser cutting). This is not an issue with the older free plans from FliteTest. So is there a way I can somehow convert those files into a... Read more

Water ballast usually increases your XC speed. But in weak, narrow thermals, the climb rate with a ballasted glider can take a big hit. In Condor soaring simulator, you can test the effect of wing loading on the maximum climb rate, ideal bank and airspeed for various thermal profiles. In this weak thermal example, the climb rate of a fully ballasted JS3 drops to half compared to a dry glider.

As the title says "What kit would you like to see get an update?" I'm bored at work and browsing the FT store as one tends to do and the thought occurred to me. I never owned an OG Scout XL but based on what I've seen the new Super Scout XL (of which I own, waiting to be built) there was some massive improvements. I'm personally a big fan of 1930s to 1940s Racers, particularly the DH88, therefore always been very drawn to the FT Cruiser and I'd love to see it get a similar treatment. Maybe... Read more

Figured I would make a thread for the 3D printed wing builds that I am working on. I found a really simple to print/build flying wing with several variants including a VTOL twin motor tail sitter. The first one I plan to build will be a Walksnail FPV version. Some people print the first layer in one color, then the rest in a different. Pictures below are of the variants I plan to build. Everybody knows this as a flying wing What happens when we turn it? Looks futuristic, but bending and torsion of the wings is a big problem. Going to try and get it to fly. Steps: 1) Wanted to get the CG right at location of the 64 EDF. Went thru a lot of cutting and tape like the x-24 until I had a gut feeling it's a go. Why does setting up rates have to be so darn hard? IT DOESN'T!!! Flying a plane with EdgeTX and want a SIMPLE way to set up multiple rates, on a switch or even a dial that doesn't take multiple lines of setup on the inputs or mixes tab?
