Opera suddenly uses too much CPU

You can hit shift + esc in Opera to open its task manager to narrow down the the process that's causing issues. Each process has a description of what it's for. Also, goto the URL opera://settings/system and make sure graphics acceleration is enabled. Then, goto the URL opera://gpu and make sure most things (especially compositing and video decoding) are hardware-accelerated. If you're using an adblocker on Youtube, that can cause high CPU usage.

DevTools doesn't restrict the web page view

Hi, Whenever I open a DevTool and refresh a webpage, the webpage flows underneath the DevTool instead of respecting the boundary and rendering in available area. No other browser has this issue. Can it be fixed? Here's the video of it - DevTool issue

Opera Keyboard Shortcuts doing nothing

I used exactly the same shortcut, and have the same issue. I had version: 135.0.5973.66 Updated to version: 135.0.5973.92 (didn't fix it) OS: Windows 11 (64-bit) My other shortcuts work properly, such as ctrl + shift + T for Telegram. I even tried changing them (ctrl + shift + T for WhatsApp and ctrl + shift + W for Telegram), but still WhatsApp doesn't open on key press, and Telegram opens and closes normally, so the problem is not the keys, it is WhatsApp. Hope any of this helps for solving the problem.

Make sidebar panel zoom optional again (locked at 100% since 132)

I agree that making the sidebar zoom completely fixed at 100% is quite limiting. Different panels can have very different layouts, and 100% isn't always the most practical size, especially on smaller screens. I think the optional approach suggested here makes the most sense. A per-panel zoom setting would give users the most control, while a simple “sidebar panels follow page zoom” option would also be a good compromise. Keeping it disabled by default could preserve the behavior introduced in version 132, while still allowing users who relied on the previous zoom behavior to get it back. Hopefully Opera will consider making sidebar panel zoom configurable rather than permanently locked to 100%.

"Open WhatsApp in sidebar" shortcut never fires, other messenger shortcuts work (135.0.5973.92, Linux)

@CrazyFreak Opera 135.0.5973.92, Windows 11. I had the same problem, and surprisingly, I used the same key combination for WhatsApp, ALT+W. And exactly the same testing I've performed, with ALT+W assigned to Facebook Messenger and working ok, but not on Whatsapp, and assigned another combination, like ALT+Q still don't work for Whatsapp, but working ok for other messengers from sidebar. Of course, CTRL+SHIFT+M is working ok, it opens the Whatsapp messenger, but I consider this shortcut to be too complicated (besides the fact that is generic, and it will also open other sidebar messengers that I've used before, including Whatsapp, so is not very practical). So, in short, the same problem is in Opera for Windows, so is not a Linux only problem. I hope that somebody will find a solution for this problem, or if this is a bug, it will be corrected in a future update.
