Hello everyone. First post on here. I pick up a new 357 trapper today . Got it mainly to shoot it suppressed on my property. As of now I'm pretty happy with the rifle. Definitely picky with what it likes. Had to do a little playing around with loads to get a decent result. I will go into my loads later. I decided to scope it since my eyes aren't what they used to be. I went with a 1-8 x24 that I feel matches up nicely. Targets at 50 yards rested on a bench. I do believe i can find a... Anyone ever try the 125 grain JSP or JHP out of their 1894? What king of groups did you get?
Thanks for welcoming me to the forum. I'm continuing to enjoy over 50 years as a firearm enthusiast. Collecting, training, reloading. Love it all. As the thread title states, My new Marlin 1894 10mm has about 500 rounds through it. Factory and reloaded combo. One trip back to Ruger for an ejector and extractor change. Finally breaking in. After adjusting loads, i.e. charge weights, COAL, and crimp, all loads with various powders experience a very sooty case mouth area usually indicative of... Bonding with the Marlin 1894 10mm
I've wanted one of these for a few years. Unfortunately the first time I heard of it was around 2019, 25yrs after they were made. Kept hoping to find one on the cheap, but I finally said "who cares" and paid $1900 for one online. Sorry for keeping the price artificially high because of my lack of patience! It's very smooth, and the trigger surprised me with its lightness. Keeping the Marlin Safety on the top of the receiver is a really nice touch. I think it'll be a fun cowboy action... Hello I recently inherited some old guns and was looking to get some information. The gun in question is a marlin model 1893, it says “special smokeless steel” on the side of barrel and on top of the barrel it says “marlin fire-arms co., NEW HAVEN, CT. U.S.A” the line below is unledgable, it roughly looks like it reads “OCT 11 1887 APRIL 2 1888 TG 1893”. The serial number is “309542”. there is no information of caliber on the rifle. If any information provided seems redundant and obvious... marlin special smokeless steel model 1893
Anybody have 1894"s barrel tenon / threads specs drawing. I have only been able to find drawing for Model 39A so far on line. Thanks,
Has anyone else had a really difficult time loading the Hornady LEVERevolution ammo in their 1894? I have an 1894 SBL in 44 Rem Mag and the LEVERevolution ammo is so difficult to load into the magazine tube. It seems to get caught on something inside when you're pushing a second round into the tube, and gets worse when loading more. I end up jiggling the round until it slips in. I love the ammo's performance, but hate loading it and have switched to Remington hollow points instead. my other... Hornady LEVERevolution Loading Issues (44 Rem Mag, 225 Grain)
I have a nickel plated 22wmr tube fed, it levermatic, and it's a marlin and don't know more
What is maximum case length that will fit in 1894 357 mag action. Starting to look and wonder if possible a stretched 256 Win Mag case. Possibly be able to get to 250/3000 savage or 6.5 Grendal performance safely. If you already have wildcat please share it. Thanks
I'm pretty sure that I damaged the carrier in my 10mm 1894 with some hot handloads. I say this because I had a case failure that required removal of half of a case from the chamber from excessive pressure. I think I might have double charged a CFE-P load. The lever started getting stuck in the open position so I sent it back to Marlin/Ruger CS in Mayodan NC. After a 2 week, no charge, no questions asked turnaround, I'm back up and running with a new carrier. The CS team is great by my... 1894 Customer Service

Hello , Alex here new to this group. Looking for help and suggestions for rebarreling my 1894-357. I know it is .775-12tpi square threads. Is the hood at end of barrel absolutely required? I do see that it can help with feeding. Any tips for barrel setback especially older Marlins with larger than 357 Mag CIP chamber. Thanks, Alex Backinthehills
