General Photography thread

I was wondering if there was a general photography thread on here, but after a brief search, I couldn't find one. What camera(s)/lens(es) do you have? I got a Canon 600D with 50mm f/1.8 II lens last week for my birthday, I've recently ordered a 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II for some telephoto action and I'm planning on ordering an 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens when the cheques go through!

Lollipop Ladies

First time in a long time I made use of a lollipop lady, which got my juices flowing... Are there still as many Lollipop Ladies around these days? Have you used their services recently? Even if at all?

Irrational Dislikes

Who do you dislike even though there's nothing really that 'bad' about them? I can't stand the two sports reporters on the BBC Breakfast programme. Dunno what it is about them (I'm not short-ist!), but I'd love to give 'em both a swift slap round the head. I bloody hate Andrew Lansley too, but that's not irrational as he's an arrogant, impatient ******** who's hell-bent on dismantling the NHS. You see the difference? The two BBC blokes above are just highly annoying but I don't... Read more

Marc Cucurella

The new Dan Harding? Totally being owned by Solly atm and letting the crowd get to him.

Mick Jagger’s voice

I couldn’t help noticing just how good Jagger’s voice sounds on In The Stars. Amazing for an 83 year old I can’t think of anyone else whose voice has not deteriorated big time by that age - Elton, Dylan, McCartney and Rod Stewart for example When I looked the video up I thought, ah this is an old recording which is why he sounds so good. But no, it’s a recent recording with some AI trickery. Anyone else you can think of who still has the pretty much the same voice at 80 as 20... Read more

Something Big Is Happening

Really interesting/frightening read from Matt Schumer, who is an AI OG. I'd suggest you read it if you can spare the 10 minutes or so. Something Big Is Happening A personal note for the non-tech people in my life on what AI is starting to change — why it's moving faster than you think, and what to do about it. shumer.dev

Tornike Kvaratskhelia

16 year old Georgian LW at Dinamo Tbilisi with two years left on his contract, who can't join us until he turns 18 anyway. He's made 13 first team appearances already. Yes, it's Khvicha's brother. Chelsea, Spurs, City, Utd, Liverpool, Villa, Arsenal, Newcastle, and Bayern, with whom he apparently trained this summer, also linked. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s electric wonderkid brother wanted by Chelsea, Tottenham - Exclusive The teenager is expected to be every bit as good as his brother ⚡️ #CFC #THFC #transfernews www.teamtalk.com
