Noooot sure if this is the right section but i couldn't quite figure out the best place so into general discussion it goes. a common problem ive both experienced and seen people having issues with is tracking down or finding parts, normally either trim pieces, or smaller bits and bobs that finding a part number for or vendor for has been a nightmare and with junk cars we can rip parts out of becoming rarer and rarer and prices for those parts starting to soar as the people who do have them... Something weird happened. I started up my 84 last weekend when testing the alternator and everything worked fine. Completely normal idle rpm. Yesterday I started her up to work on a power steering leak and it jumped straight to 2600 rpm. I didn’t sound like a high idle. I sounded like I was pushing the gas but I wasn’t. Never came down. What could have happened between last week and now? Something stuck open in the carb?
Hello everyone, I’m new to the group and wanted to introduce myself. I recently picked up a 1983 Honda Prelude with around 85,000 miles. Looking forward to learning more about these cars, connecting with other Prelude owners, and sharing some pictures and updates along the way. Glad to be here!
The owners manual says DOT 3 or 4 but the brake fluid reservoir says DOT 3 only. The fluid i wanted to get is DOT 4. Will it work?
Welp we added another prelude to the family. My 14 yr old brother bought a 93 si today! My sister has a 2000 base prelude and I have several 3rd gens(3 main and 2 parts cars). This car has been for sale forever. And the seller had it at $5k and then went down to $4k. And my dad asked me what I thought. And he showed my brother it and he really liked it. So we went to check it out last week. And my brother bought it for $2500! It's been in Florida until 2021 when it was brought to Indiana... My Brother's 1993 Honda Prelude Si Build!
I’m working on my 1984 Honda Prelude (1.8L) and trying to diagnose a charging issue before I go out and buy parts. I tested everything with a multimeter and got 12.61V with the engine off, 12.34V while running, and it drops further to 12.08V when I turn on headlights and AC. From what I understand, it should be closer to 13.8–14.5V while running, so it seems like the alternator isn’t charging and the car is just running off the battery. The battery itself seems healthy based on the resting... 2nd Gen Alternator Replacement
Anyone have a set for a decent price? DM me. Thanks
Hi guys, My right rear parking brake cable snapped, and I'm looking to replace both of the cables now. It's pretty hard to find these new, so I'm wondering if any of you have had luck using Civic/Accord cables instead. Thanks in advance!

My first car was a 1989 honda prelude wich i pulled out of the woods after it sat for 13 years. It was the car i rode home from the hospital in and i even have pictures of me at 3 sanding on it. I eventually got a 1990 in 2025 and have been daily driving it since. I have met many people because of this car and am very happy to own them.
Looking for a possible compatible air cleaner for the dual carb B20A engine part number 17220-PK1-013 - did plenty of searches but all were discontinued. Is there an air cleaner compatible as after market or am I left to clean the existing one I have. If there are cleaning tips I'll take those. The air cleaner is still in good shape but eventually I may need a replacement
