600-ish hp b230 16valve?

So this is probably asked a lot, but i guess here is another one... Okay for those still here i am planning on making a track/street Volvo 240 with an amazing engine build and to keep the spirit of the car i want to use a b230 with a 16 valve mod. I hope to be able to reach like 600 + or - hp. Also id prefer to be as least reliant on the turbo and instead try to push some good rpm out of this car. I also would prefer for the power to not only be at the top so its nice and good at the track... Read more

K-Jet. No Warm Start. Tester Results.

I've been having persistent warm start problems with a 1980 N/A K-jet. I finally got a fuel pressure tester on it and everything seems to be reasonably on spec. Maybe I'm missing something though. I'm hoping somebody who understands this system better than I do can point me where to look next. Thanks. TESTER RESULTS: -Control pressure = 50 psi -line/system pressure = 65-70 psi (reading was kind of shaky) -Engine off, running pump w/ #5+7 fuses = 20 psi -After shut off, line and control... Fighting with DSM CAS on Microsquirt

Hi everyone. I've been converting my 1984 245ti to microsquirt. For my rpm signal, I am using the YoshiFab DSM CAS adapter with high res disk. -ls truck coils -orange top 850 injectors -Ms3 The issue I am having is I keep getting sync errors 11 (too few teeth before the second trigger) and 17 ( second trigger missing when expected) when cranking. The Data log looks super solid but I cannot get it to sync ever. I am using 1k ohm Pull-up resistors, shielded wires grounded to the... Read more

More important camshaft information from me to you

This is really important and seems to have popped up a couple times lately. If you get yourself an aftermarket cam (which I recommend for best result), you MUST degree it in. I don't know why the aftermarket cam blanks are made this way, and though there's probably a reason for it, it doesn't matter. Some of them have been ok to this point, but there's no guarantee that going forward they will be. An overly retarded camshaft has a bunch of symptoms: unexplained detonation, weird power... LH 2.2 bogging under load when hot

My 86’ 240 has started to bog under load, only when the car is hot. Do yall have any ideas of what might be causing this? I’m going to test fuel pressure and AFR next time I can work on the car 86’ 240 bogging under load

K-jet fuel distributor boot

Does anyone have an idea where I can get this part for an '82 240 DL with a B21F? Picture located at: http://www.worldisround.com/articles/340676/photo1.html

My 1981 242 DL

Hey all! So finally, after a long long time and waiting i present you my 1981 242 DL that i bought around one and a half years ago over the phone from Lithuania, where i am from originally. The car has finally arrived to the UK on the 30th of June, and now it will be stored in the unit that we are finishing building till it's all up and running and i can actually start tearing it apart to see what needs to be done. I will add pictures and a little video or two later on whenever it all... Read more

1209638

What are the dimensions for this part. Where can it be obtained and when it fails, aside from the "Slop", or "Play", in the shifter handle, could it not shift at all if the bushing disintegrates?

Heating (climate control) issue: no heat

I have a '92 240 sedan that will not provide heat to the cabin. The heater valve actuates and the blower works, but still no noticeable change in temperature at the vents. As supplemental backstory: I just re-machined the head and replaced the head gasket as the vehicle was only on 3 cylinders (cross-threaded spark-plug) for an unknown amount of time and there was exhaust contamination in the the coolant. As a matter of course, I replaced the radiator, pump, and thermostat; and followed up... Read more

Sparco evo fixed back seats

Looking for feedback from anyone that has these in their 240. Or similar recarco/omp seats. It’s a weekend car that’s not going to the track. Trying to decide if I spend $600 redoing the oem seats with foam and grids or if I bite the bullet and get a pair of sparco’s. I’m leaning towards the sparco’s so I’ll have some actual bolster. Oem’s are comfy though.

C30 rear wheel bearing/hub noise -- have a listen

2011 C30, ~150,000 miles. Recent new noise appeared. It's a faint scraping, not quite a 'grinding' noise yet, but sounds like if a brake pad had a metal tab wear sensor that was rubbing on the brake rotor. But the pads don't have those, and they have about 3mm pad left on each of the rear pads. Noise is present when the car is moving. Doesn't change with braking, it's still there whether I apply the brakes or not. It's rotational, car moving, noise there. Car stops, noise stops. Also... Read more
