After quite some searching on the forum for topics related to mine, I can't find much related other than this recent topic related to Street Fighter II. I have a Gravis Gamepad Pro, which I'm trying to use within real MS-DOS 6.22, beyond the 4-button analogue mode, using GrIP mode, and extend the use of the 10 available buttons with games such as Tomb Raider. I've installed the Xperience software in Windows 9x and can see that it provides a keyset database with preset profiles for a range of games, including Tomb Raider. These keysets can even be customised for each game to contain profiles other than the provided default. Of course, these profiles can only be loaded and used when launching games from within Windows (or one game can use a chosen keyset if rebooting into a DOS box). However, I'm curious as to whether these profiles created can be exported from the Keyset Manager software in Windows, into a format such at the GrIp keysets (.GKS), which can then be loaded within real MS-DOS 6.22 with the use of the GKLOAD utility. The Keyset Manager allows the import of pre-prepared GrIP keysets (.GKS), but appears to only export the entire keyset database as a .MDB file, which is of no use to GKLOAD. Failing that, is there another way for one to create their own .GKS profiles that can be loaded with GKLOAD and used in MS-DOS? If none of the above is possible, does it mean the sole purpose of the GKLOAD utility is to only load those .GKS files that have been provided by the game

Thank you, I will check the save file shortly, but I can see there is an issue with the CPU detection, please do as below. SIV should have reported IBM 486BLX2 and I can't see why it didn't, please do SIV32L -DBGCPU -EXIT=20 > SIV_DBGOUT.log and post the .log file. It would also be a good idea to install the Tahoma Font, see Re: SIV support for 386/486/586 class CPUs and 3Dfx + Matrox GPUs . I noticed you did SIV32L -save -noacpi -nopci -nosmb , why did you do this rather than run SIV32L then do Menu->File->Save Local as I specified? BTW do you have a MCA (Microchannel) system running Windows 9x/NT please? Did the original HSC author release the source code? I’m not aware of that—where is it? Let me take a look; do you have a link? I’ve been working entirely through reverse engineering and have never seen the HSC source code in my life. The project began by reverse engineering and analyzing HSCOBJ. I won't be releasing the source code right now since the project isn't finished yet, though that might happen in the future. The HSC format is the one used for those iconic MS-DOS cracktro tunes; that’s why I love it and started this project. I also examined the original HSC Tracker to understand how it works, sought help from programmer friends and AI, and made significant progress regarding the fundamentals. I don't have the original HSC source code, nor is HSCOBJ included inside my EXE 😀 Those who know assembly and how to unpack executables can inspect the EXE; the code runs without HSCOBJ and was written entirely from scratch. Actually, I think the original HSC programmer really ought to release the source code and gift it to the community after all these years 😀 The tracker was only released yesterday, though, so I think it's a bit too early to share the source code...
Ati X1800/1900 was its golden era. Yeah... I remember my Radeon X1600Pro allowed me to use HDR and AA at the same time. I did have to use lower res. but it was still a treat. Nowadays my collection is actually mostly centered around 9000 series, X800 and X1800/X1900, and this 1900XT I bought just because of Ruby 😀
I suspect with more memory SIV would be less slow, how much memory can the system support? It is already maxed at 5 MB. 1 MB onboard + 2 expansion boards each 2 MB. I got a CRT monitor from the 80's for my old consoles. It works, but the green color is a bit too bright and there are loose connections on basically every switch and jack. [...] Original packaging is nice indeed but I was surprised (like, hey I’ve seen that one!) that it is “just a generic” Colormax box. It’s a standard design and sometimes they add a sticker indicating its contents (i.e. VP-503 Voodoo and VP-128 Alliance AT3D). The AT3D in question is fitted with ASD branded memory chips. I don’t recall seeing them on other graphic cards 😀 . For a common card like a Rage 128 (Pro) or TNT2, I wouldn't pay that much for a generic box either. But a boxed AT3D is a rarity and for that, I have no problem upping the price. If one with nicer packaging comes along later on, I'll try to buy that one too and if I get it, sell the generic one.
A major change in build, know it feels more complete, by the way the extractor know covers gfx2.grp which contains music and sound effects, as well as sounds from cinematics , yeah I know go figure, anyhow feel free to extract them for your usage.
I don’t know if the BIOS on the Chaintech lacks support or the voltage needs to be increased or... If it works at 550, then the BIOS is fine. What is the voltage now? I was curious, so last night I tried a standard 500AFX and got it working at 600MHz with 2.3v. I also tried a few 400ATZ (T=1.6v) plus CPUs. At 2v, 2 out of 3 chips would do 600MHz, and one 570. I can't go any higher with the board I have out on the bench. Stable clock speeds are affected by things like temperature, voltage, and the silicon lottery.
